While restoring my 02 YZ, i ditched my fatty and went with a Lexx. Nicely spread the hit out and with nice, thick welds.
Weird that I have been using FMF for years, 30 ish, and never had one that looked like that but, ok.
This ^ I’ve never stuck to any particular brand, it’s always been about what works best on that model bike and if it puts the power where you want it.
I’ve used FMF, Pro Circuit, DEP, Doma, HGS, Scalvini etc. You usually have to take a little extra time in getting them to fit nicely compared to a stock pipe, but really it’s all about the power curve. FMF Fatty’s have been a standout on a few different bikes, never had a complaint.
But in saying that, the build quality on your pipe is less than I would expect. You’d be justified in returning it and asking for a better quality replacement, or your money back.
Strange. I’ve always had good luck with FMF.

Hopefully these quality issues are not as common as they sound. The right machinist can adjust the tooling/process so parts are produced identically, within a reasonable tolerance.
Being a machinist myself 30 years ago, I imagine getting the right dimensions and angles off the bikes isn't the easiest thing to measure, nor building the tooling, but it's worth it.
HGS make decent exhausts.
Not my problem....Pro-Circuit all day long here! The power 2T or 4T is just where I want it...solid pull to the mid range then the pro-circuit blast hits and pulls hard into top end w/ overrev! whats not to like! wave bye bye to the bikes that were next to or in front of you.
