Cool interview that Jamie snagged with Kyle Chisholm as he was on a layover (in Salt Lake) between California and Florida, covering how he's returning to HEP Suzuki and how his bike setup resulted in Ken choosing to sign with the team.

Listened to this earlier cooking dinner. Great questions and answers by both Darkside and the ever classy and awesome Chiz.
Love that Kyle is getting this opportunity to set himself up after racing and have a good buddy to be on the team with
I went to a couple of DHMA’s at Mosier Valley back in the day before the spring classic and Kyle was there. He was a class act then and still is today. I’m happy to see him get this opportunity.
Great interview. Thanks for all the content especially lately. Good stuff.
For sure!

He got Eli to sign on again to Star and got Rozcen to HEP. The Man needs some commission!!
He needs to convince Suzuki to invest in an updated bike.
(Or convince KTM to buy Suzuki and produce a yellow one lol. Then they’ll have an orange, white, red, and yellow bike.)
Gotta spellcheck before you hit submit
Just saw this… haha to be clear, I’m not claiming at all to have convinced Kenny to sign. There’s way more to it than me setting up the bike. The team has improved a ton and put together a great group of people. I’m just one part of it so I, by no means, want to take the credit at all. I just wanted to point out my part in the whole thing. But I am excited for everything and thankful to be a part of it
the interview was great, its cool you're a vital user too.
always great to hear it directly from the racer.
Who would want a downgrade like that?
Nothing against Kyle, I'd say Larry Brooks had more to do with Ken's decision.
Reading between the lines hours answers it sounds like they want him to stick around for bike development the next few years. And keefer said he thinks Suzuki will have some updates in 24.
Call me crazy but I think this whole thing is going to work out great . I like Kenny in the under dog role . I have a hunch this team is going to tweak a few egos amongst the other teams this year . We shall see … 🍿
i think your right- Kenny is now in the position as the hunter- the Star Racing and HRC Riders are the ones beeing chased after/beeing under pressure to deliver.
Kenny is in a perfect position- maybe this is exactly what helps him from fading- wich i think is a mental thing from beeing under pressure all the time.
I m really looking forward to A1 to see if HEP Suzuki can show people what this team/bike is capable of!
I completely agree. I’m sure there is TONs of pressure at Honda to perform. This is definitely a good mental move for him.
Imagine Kenny and Chiz developing the next RMZ450….that would be AWESOME! These next couple years are going to be awesome for moto, and Suzuki in moto!
I don't think I ever heard him say he "really liked the bike he was on" which is kind of odd. I heard about how it was improving and how ken liked it but I never heard kyle directly say he liked it lol I hope this is just a coincidence.
So who is the suspected "new" rider that Kyle mentions?
Pit Row
McElrath
Sometimes I think Kenny just sucks at setting up a bike, haha. All the stories about returning to a stock set up and being 3 sec faster in the past, flying in his old suspension guy from Germany and so on…
Chizz obviously knows what he’s doing. Maybe Kenny should just focus on riding and his health and leave all the technical stuff to his teammate. Could be the winning combo!
Why does the bike need to be updated? One of the best riders in the world thinks it’s great!
the same rider who wasn’t comfortable on the Honda.
A little off topic, but I noticed Chiz and Roczen had Pro Circuit pipes on their bikes? Assuming the team is making the switch from Yosh?
Yes
