I just read this news on Gomx racing and it appears to be true.

I'm sorry I have no more info except he's been apparently sick for awhile.

RIP Troy and condolences to his Family and friends

I remember him racing in Socal back in the 80's.
He was a baddass on a YZ80, looked like a scaled down version of Broc Glover.

Here is a pic from the Old School Forum by Tom Corley:

The mini class was so stacked with talent in the early 80's and he was on top of the shelf.

Ocscottie or Guy-B can you edit the title for me ?

I saw my mistakes and tried to stop it but this thing uploaded it and won't let me change it.

This has hit the Arizona MX Community very hard. Troy was a very good friend of mine, part of the Yamaha Mini & Motorcycle teams along with Eric Kehoe. I first met him in 1979 at Ponca City, and we remained friends.

Troy was Mr Enthusiasm - he and his dad currently had a small but very popular accessory shop in Tempe, AZ, and he was known for his willingness to help other riders, whether or not they were his customers.

As of this time, I have no word on either services pending or an address for condolences, but when I get them I'll post them.

As I don't check this board often, I can be contacted directly at my personal email addy: diggerboi2@gmail.com

Troy, bud.... I miss you so much already.....

A friend of mine was on the same factory Yamaha team as him and stayed somewhat in touch with him was told it was kidney renal failure, sad but true, the same disease I have is what killed him.

My brother Jimmy called me this mornning to tell me that Troy Blake had died. I could not believe it. He was an incredible rider and racer. I remember in the 80's when my dad would tell my brother that he had to beat Troy on the track. Troy was the one name in the house that was always talked about as the one to compete against. Troy and my brother became pretty good friends.
Troy, you will be missed.
Our condolences to the family.

My mom had taken some photos of Troy in Ponca and I need to see if I can get any better at scanning and posting. One fast kid. I didn't have anything for him.

Hal, Announcer guy, did you announce Ponca in the late 70s and early 80s. I think you were the one that part of our Kansas City crowd got to know(and love). Nice guy from what I remember. I was just a kid.
