What year? All the oil must have leaked out and you washed it before the tube came fully unthreaded

Who had your forks apart last ? 

Had a shock body unthread on me at Southwick on my 18 250sx 

You are correct that shouldn't have happened.  The spring turn it loose over time. Never seen that before. Probably the same issue with the forks. Loctite for a reason eh.

Looks like the front fell off.

My ‘22 came loose as well. At first I thought the fork seal was leaking, thankfully caught it before it fully unthreaded. Take it to your local suspension pro for inspection. If the threads are OK and damper rod isn’t bent, you’ll be good to go with some new green loctite.

I had a brand new set of never opened 2022 ktm air forks that had all the wrong parts internally.  There are some photos on this forum somewhere. 

What you don't check the torque of your forks lugs on a new bike? Rookie...
