Do you get new boots when they stink too bad?

This. As noted earlier, bacteria generate the odors. Powders simply mask the smell, and washing acts like a sauna for the little bastards. Gotta freeze them out of existence. Once a month should do the trick. And try to keep them dry when not in use

I ditched my old pair of Fox Instincts, cause they smelled really bad, like cat piss bad, but it seems to be a common issue with those boots. There is not a single trick I haven't tried to get rid of it, nothing worked.
Switched to Sidi's, no more stink and they seem to hold up way better.
Mine too, like a cat snuck in the garage and pissed in both, I’m throwing mine out and going back to Tech10s, disappointed as I really like them

Try the washer trick above. It works wonders. Leave overnight.

Remove them at the track , spray a heathy dose of Lysol spray inside for the ride home
Works even better if you have some type of dryer set up

Once they start to smell is the perfect time to drink a beer from the boot. Might want to chase it with a shot of whiskey or scotch though...

I never had a problem with boots stinking until my latest pair of Tech 7's I got like 5 months ago. I swear they smell like cat piss after riding all day. The stench lingers from the boot and I can still slightly smell it the next weekend. In the summer it was worse. I remember at Budds Braapamania in August I was walking around with them on after practice before racing and I could smell the "Cat piss" smell lmao.

I’m glad to hear this. I had about ten cats put down for pissing in my instincts, It got pretty hard to keep telling my wife they ran away.

Now that it’s been mentioned, I’ve never had boots smell at all…ever?

I’ve never had a pair smell, I also take care of my boots properly. I leave them open to dry and never stuff my knee brace socks in them. Also I have multiple pairs that cycle through each ride. I’ buy multiple pairs each year as well.

Put a dryer sheet in each boot. A friend of mine had some stinky boots and he said it worked like a charm.
