So yes & no. For the most part it’s not that bad on bikes. While the factory mechanics do a full tear down between rounds, us regular guys don’t do that much. For the most part Ty just puts a clean filter in, changes the oil every other race, puts a fresh rear tire on and checks the bike over for loose or broken parts. He’s on the carb bike. Ty has both a carb & FI/TBI bike from TM to test. The carb bike just pulls harder from bottom to top.
After some mapping changes and other tweaks the Fi bike is really good and Ty’s younger brother is racing it in Intermediate. It’s working great for him.

Very cool!

These top EX guys have skills on another level.

Can't find where, but I saw a video of Johnny from the Boise round where he was wheelying toward a log and without setting his front tire down at all he hopped his back tire completely over the log.... so essentially he rode a wheelie while bunny hopping the back tire about 10-12" up and over a log.... how the f#$% is that possible!?

Oh yeah, and somebody tell the Endurocross social media team to tone it down on calling him a "Rookie". I understand he's never done this series before but come on guys.....

It really surprises me Webb has stuck with Sherco and they can afford to pay him. After they fired Stuckey in the US their US teams basically imploded. The team the baylor bros were on folded and sent them to Ampro and GASGAS. I don't think Sherco even has any US based off-road teams other than maybe just individual riders like Webb that compete in select series. It's funny 4yrs ago Sherco was buying ads in dirt bike mags about being KTM killers and they haven't done shit since. I had a 2018 SE300 2stk, it was an ok bike but the electronic PV was weird when it would open/close and the bike was pretty heavy.

That deal with Baylor never stood a chance, it was complete ignorance of them to think their bike was ready for GNCC at that level. I said the same thing then and was called stupid by folks here....right up until Stew left the team because the bike wouldn't hold together LOL

Aren't Webb and Cooper Abbott still essentially on that same "Team" along with Keith Curtis for the Extreme series?

There are a lot of 300 2 strokes around here, guys love them.



They've all but disappeared around my area, back in 2018 when they started coming after KTM quite a few would show up at national enduro's (including me). After the baylor team folded I think guys got scared the values would tank and they sold out and went back to KTM. I went to a HS yesterday and remember seeing a handful (less than 5) out of 336 bikes. 4yrs ago that number would have been closer to 40ish I'd say. They lost several dealers also because of mismanagement at the importer level, I know of two within 4hrs of me that closed one being the dealer my 300 came from.

I have no idea on numbers at the races, I am sure they still pale in comparision to KTM. Seems like they have 95% of the market.

But if you wanted a carbed 300cc bike, your options are limited and Sherco fills the bill.

Yamaha is missing the boat not at least offering some sort of hard enduro 2stk. They could easily make a YZ300X with lights and a big tank stock. They would sell every one of them too. They dropped the ball moving the new body work over to the YZX this year also, the tank is smaller and last time I checked their wasn't a big tank option for that new bodywork.

I have a Tom Morgan YZ 300 and love it.

Big tanks are available for the new bodywork. IMS has them, and a couple others are in the works,.

He was on the RPM team, but it was a factory race bike. Same a Riordan and LaBlond are now on

Your timing is a little off. There was no “team” when Stuckey was the importer. When Factory One took over as the Enduro Importer they went gangbusters hiring a lot of riders, including the Baylors. It was probably too much too soon. Also their 450 isn’t up to racing at that level yet.

Concentrating on Hard Enduro & Endurocross is a great move for them and fits their brand. At the races they have the biggest/best setup with professional mechanics for each rider and team manager there.
