Looking at getting a 22' Kia Sorento. I really like the Telluride but it's a little over what I am looking to spend. It would be my lady's daily driver. She currently has a 16' 328i, the car unfortunately is needing to go down the road for many German car reasons. So, anyone got Kia experience?
I have no real complaints about it, nothing weird has just stopped working. I had to replace my trunk lift supports recently but that's it. Can't really speak on the newer premium gadgets but I would NOT call my little car a shitbox which is a huge compliment!
i've been looking at the new SUVs as well, but she likes not having a payment and loves her little hamster car.

My only real complaints would be that it felt very light on the road, no real feedback through the steering wheel. But I’m kind of spoiled with my daily driver, so it could be perfectly normal for the average Camry/Accord/Altima. The other thing was that I really felt the quality of the interior was as high or as up to date as the exterior.
Those were pretty minor points, though, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one if I were looking for that size and class of car. They’ve definitely learned their lessons and have made huge strides over the last 15-20 years.
KIAs and Hyundai's have come a long way. I shopped both brands (and others) at the time, and they seem to be just variations of the same vehicle. I think Brothers own / control the two brands?
It's an impressive little vehicle. We've had no problems with it, all all. Other than Mum damaging it while parking - front end into a wall, back end into one of our trees - even with the 'radar' warning features it's got.
I rarely drive it, but, once I get used to it each time, it's a good thing. So, I'll keep it for my own use when she stops driving.
Though, I still prefer to drive (what was) her old '99 Ford AU, that I decided to keep when they offered me $300 trade in. It goes like a rocket, and, after fixing (a fair bit of) rust this year, I hope to keep it as my basic transport for many years to come. It's a Dual Fuel, so the LPG makes it pretty economical to run. My diesel 'Race Van', which is a mongrel of a thing to get around in, due to its size (length and height) , is just quietly sitting under the carport, doing it's own rusting. I could blow money on a new / fancy car, but, bugger that, I spend my money on travel, and property that Appreciates in value.
A friend has the same model he bought new. Just a few years older. Although, it’s his daily driver, he’s only had to change out the rotors and, pads.
just got a recall notice concerning fires from a faulty wire harness,
their solution for now is to have dealers put a lower amperage fuse in for that connection,
oh, and don't park in any structures or near another vehicle.
They share platforms, but have different styling.
Their upscale brand, Genesis, is a pretty damn high quality ride.
I test drove a Genesis once that had around 500hp if I remember right. It was like driving an old muscle car, except it was quiet and smooth. Lots of fun.
They shared much of the same body panels and inner pressings, chassis, well, everybloodything...
Mum set her heart on a little SUV type thing , though I was wanting to only get something like a Sonata, but the higher up seating she (and I) could far more easily get in and out of, convinced me to spend around another 15K AUD....
I'm using the little Roller Skate On Wheels to get To and Fro from Hospital visits and physio at the moment, And, it's so good to park in the crowded car parks. That height (seat height) means I just turn around with my butt to the seat, and slide into the car, then slide out of it. No bending my Non Bending Knees! It's much easier than lowering down then clambering up and out in the old AU Ford.
Also, the little thing towed a loaded, 3 Bike Trailer really well over the Blue Mountains here, a while back. and, faster than my bloody Gutless 'Race Van' = the slowest Vehicle I've ever had - well, it's perhaps the Slowest Vehicle on Earth.
