"Democrats care most about abortion rights, while republicans are most concerned about inflation, according to the poll."
People are considered dead when their heart stops beating. So to stop even an embryo's heartbeat is killing it. But I don't want to derail the thread any further...my point is that the SC decision to turn abortion over to the states is a major contributing factor to the Republicans not gaining control of the Senate and not winning more seats in the house.

"I don't follow the news really."
Suggests you didn't vote.
"Fill me in fellas, who's Team won?"
Although I do love some team sports, the election is much more important that a "team" winning or losing and that kind of blasé attitude is how you lose a country.
"Who is drinking champagne today celebrating the fact that they get to lead the American people the direction they want without any care to get input from the actual real people who live here?"
You do realize you had a chance to be a part of it and give actual input, right?
If you look at all the undecided races, the Dems lead in 28 of them. They currently have 191 confirmed, so 27 out of 28 would give them 218 which is the majority.
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/11/08/us/elections/results-hou…®ion=NavBar
Democrats lead:
ME 1
NY 1
AK 1
CO 1
AZ 2
WA 2
OR 2
NV 3
CA 15
The runoff in GA will decide the Senate majority. Right now it is 48-48 with AZ and NV undecided. Kelly will most likely win AZ, Masto is behind in NV. So it is likely to be Dem controlled either 50-50 with the veep tiebreaker or 51-50.
They need to back off on all the culture war bullshit. How about being fiscally conservative for once? How about a real solution to healthcare? What are they offering Gen Z and Millennials? Old guys can scoff at this, but the younger generations aren't voting Republican... And why should they? Even if the GOP platform had something to offer, what is it, besides calling them lazy and entitled? Maybe the GOP doesn't think they are worth it, but that is really shortsighted isn't it? Most of these folks arent religious either, so pumping christianity into every talking point loses them.
Don't get me twisted either... The Dems suck. Their policies suck. But, they have policies, new ideas, things that appeal to a wide base. Their messaging is better.
If the GOP doesn't pivot/revamp their platform, expect many more years of disappointment.
Spinning this into well we only got our azzes kicked a little.
It becomes harder to unseat, gain more seats the more you take away from the other party. Not sure the abortion issue is all that, but if you combine it with student loans, tales of threats to democracy, climate, racism etc, with well funded entrenched incumbents that is a big hill to climb.
Democrats have dug their own graves sort of speak with little to no opposition from Republicans who know if they leave them to their own devices or divisiveness they will do the job for them.
Bottom line is certain issues attract the population differently. End result is the republicans have the house most certainly and possibly will have the senate.
Let the Investigations begin. hahaha, bring your popcorn.
Pit Row
Not sure if that's taught in school anymore, but it couldn't be more appropriately applied than this post. Now picking through the rest of this post. The conservatives need to back off the culture war bullshit. Gee, being labeled and the common denominator of every issue has been so much more fun. Fiscally conservative? The interpretation is that conservatives are the ones not being conservative. That the dems currently passing trillion-dollar spending packages, one after another, is a better example of being conservative? Health Care aka. Obama-Care that also is a result of Republican efforts/policies?
As for Gen-Z Millennials turning away from Republican/ Conservative ideology, we get it. There's not too many out there that aren't looking for the next hand-out or exhibit any desire to put the effort into achieving success. "Followers" would be a better trademark for this generation. It's what they aspire to have, and probably what they'll end up being. It's understandable why you would think the democrats/Liberals have better policies, newer ideas, and things that appeal to the masses. Because it's paid for with someone else's money.
This may turn out to be a very entertaining repub primary process, buckle up Ron, Donny's coming for you
Hi Plains drifter? i can see a similarity
Generalization and dismissive attitude toward the younger generations will be the death of the current GOP.
Edit: Also just for shits, look up who's added more to the deficit over the last 50 years. Neither party is fiscally conservative.
I follow AOC on Instagram mostly for the laughs. This question that she posed right after the election just gave me leftist cult vibes. She knows her key demographic. They are the people that would dedicate more time and energy to voting, because they think that it will produce better results than hard work and dedication to a career. Don't follow the American dream, dream about policy changes.
Why should I and Gen Z like these guys?
Edit: throw TARP and PPP in there too
Sure my kids played videos, and they got a phone at the appropriate age, but they learned that the only way to keep that cool stuff is to work for it.
They never felt entitled.
