Eli Tomac has won the world junior mx title with a 1st and 2nd place in the two motos today.

He came from an 8th place start in moto 2 to finish only a couple of metres behind Tye Simmonds. This was enough to give him the overall.

Friends who were there tell me he looked much more aggressive than the rest of the field and possibly had more in reserve.

Congratulations Eli

Sure I'm "rah-rah USA" plenty of times & plenty of
times I'm not, but I'm always proud of our boyz!
I read on either this or another post about Eli & his
European adventure, & some Bozo tries to be-little him &
his quest! See, he says "don't believe the hype" about Eli,
as there's plenty of hype on his side of the pond. In fact, this
Bozo even implies that Eli's only 3rd quickest , & a few boyz
from Europe are going to put it to him!
I guess he never heard the one of the "fat lady singings!"
Look, there's fast everywhere. Is Eli the next thing?
Here maybe, there who knows, but to be-little is to be such,
LITTLE.............One things clear to me, in that there's Bozo's on both
sides of the pond...............
Way to put it to them Eli & Co., CONGRATS!Woohoo

Good for him. Getting out of ones comfort zones and being able to perform is tough enough. Congratulations Eli .

Having said that, the proverbial gap between Euro and USA is slowly narrowing in terms of talent. it is evident when Euros are coming over and getting in the top 10s and top 5s and also winning!! It is a win win for the sport!!

i was at the track all weekend, Eli was very impressive, not to much more outright speed than Aussie Tye Symmons and Kiwi Hamish Dobbin but in the last third of the moto did not drop off his lap times like the other two, he rode very well, and spoke and represented himself very well as well,

Ashley will have some competition soon, 6th Place in teh 85cc race was Kiwi girl Courtney Duncan, 4th in 2nd race,

Anstie moved up early he could have waited for the end of the year....and too bad you dont realize who really makes the decisions here THE TEAM not the rider.
Great job Eli !!!

Great job Eli !!!
I thought Anstie moved up because of all the crap that went on.

I'm not trying to take any of the shine away from Eli, i'm just saying he was expected to win by that much when you looked at who he was up against.
