I can’t find an MX14 anywhere. What’s the next best thing? Pirelli Scorpion MX soft?

The Pirelli is a huge improvement over the mx12. The mx14 looks good but with smaller knobs than the pirelli still.

The latest Pirelli is by far the best sand tire. The only reason for choosing anything else is if you happen to get something cheaper and you're on a budget.

Don't know how bad you want it but I ordered one way back and changed my mind. Its still at my dealer but I'm in MA. 110x19

We have tried all the sand tires and the Pirelli is definitely the best. Way better than the MX12. The MX14 is an improvement, but still not on par with the Pirelli. The Hoosier sand tire is a notch below the MX12.

The Pirelli also works well in semi soft dirt too.

The Hoosier ST1 is an excellent sand tire. I think its just overlooked. The knobs have really good stiffness while the compound has traction if the faces get hard.

not really. it can be hard on wheel anodizing right at the bead. I use Honda Pro chain lube with white graphite which helps prolong chain and sprocket life as sand doesn't really stick to it.

Looks like that thing would hook up!

You run pump gas as well. Reason I ask I’ve moved and have deep sand tracks near by. Have the aggressive coupler in and it runs hot obviously in deep sand.

I never run pump gas. don't put ethanol in anything but my truck. mix 89 non eth with Sunoco 110 most of the time for most of my bikes. run straight Sunoco 110 in my CR250 as it has an eric gorr motor that absolutely rips with that fuel.

having said that I've never had overheating problems with any fuel. not riding dunes though.

Kx450 does spit a bit of coolant. Seems most do. I think I’ll cut some race gas.
When’s a sand tire considered worn. My one looks brand new still after a bunch of rides. I imagine the carcass dies first?

nah, my last two tires have seemed typical for any sand tire. I have two rear wheels built for my yz250: one with a sand tire and one with a normal hardpack tire. That sand tire has lasted me three seasons, its just now started to lose some side nobbies. I ride 90% sand/loam. The Michelin tires are sweet IMO.

No issues spitting coolant on my ‘21. 200 lbs + A rider that rides sand a lot on pump gas. The sand is definitely hard on drive components.

never had a carcass problem. the edges of the knobs will erode. its considered worn if you fell its not as fast as it was.

How does the Pirelli work on harder park conditions? Mostly ride sand but don’t want to swap it out when I ride elsewhere.
