I wonder if they would make the fe have frame changes and leave the standard bike as is for a few years. That would allow them to race tue new frame in sx/mx/smx and still sell all the frames they already have and designed.

Seeing the European teams MXON bikes in PitBits gives me hope. Hopefully those changes/modifications make it to the 23.5 Factory Editions. I'm keeping early December on my radar (when FE details have usually been announced).

Cairoli pretty much said that he was testing frame changes for the next FE ktm’s on a Matthes pod a while back. I expect you’ll see some frame tweaks. Probably not much different looking just different material thickness or guesseting is my guess.

Because the pros have raced on it for a season already and have had problems setting it up. OEM’s don’t care what you or I have to say.
And no one said drastic changes. They are likely just trying to change the flex characteristics a bit.

because it’s KTM and that’s the main reason for the FE models so they can make adjustments to their models.

Because it’s been raced for a year now and not showing well. Many are on the fence about buying and waiting for 24’ too see what changes.

As an average rider, I dont think you need to worry about the 23 frame vs the supposedly new frame for 23.5/24. Some of you guys need to ride more lmao

You are probably right in the rider ability for sure, however, as a consumer dropping 11k on a new 450 every few years I’m certainly capable of waiting 6 months or so if there’s some chassis improvements that help.

From what I understand, the problems with the setup (Factory Bikes) are because a lot of parts used on the old frame either stiffened or made it more compliant. The factory teams just bolted these same parts to the new bikes for whatever reason without thinking how they would impact the new frame. The teams have made quite a few concessions on these parts and the bikes have become way better. There could be minor tweaks coming (ancillary frame parts) but you won't see an all new frame unless its a Gas Gas.

It’s a common reference for mid model year updates or release. It’s used in reference to all sorts of different things including cars and street bikes, not just KTM FE models. Considering the 23 model year bikes come out in the spring (of the year prior to their model year name) a December FE release is that mid model year update. I’m sure you’re smart enough to have already known that but just wanted to complain about something though

I never said all new frame. I just said tweaks. Like Yamaha did To the 2020 450 vs 19.

Not every country receives the FE to sell...I don't think they get the FE in Aus.

And you’re welcome to your opinion. I know for one, the factory teams have gone with a different diameter fork and different clamps along with a different shock shaft this off season. They were using the same diameters from the old bike which achieved different results on this new frame. I know there’s mounting hardware used for weight savings and ergonomics that had adverse results in the rigidity of the new frame as well.
