Steve Matthes wrote a column that basically blamed Mike Alessi's dependence on his father, the man who raised and forged him into the racer he is today, for his inability to win a championship.
Some agreed and others did not. Some believe the poster with the username "AAA" is actually Tony Alessi defending himself. Some thought it was hilarious and/or titillating to continuously post pictures of some over-airbrushed skeezer with the last name Alessi.
There is definitely some comedy to be found, but where exactly is entirely dependent on your sense of humor and perspective on the issue.
I do not know this for a fact, but I do have the right to form an opinion based on the hundreds of stories I have heard and read.
Matthes should never stop writing his observations/opinions - and it is dangerous territory to want him to stop.
I, for one, would like to hear from Tony Alessi. But you know what? You won't even get the whole truth from him.
His side of the story would be just as slanted as the other side. Do you really think Tony believes he is in the wrong? I doubt it.
But to us on the outside - it appears that he needs to take a step back and let his sons control their own destiny for once.
You always want your dad around, but dads don't always make the best decisions, or the best team managers.

But come on seriously, Villopoto was expected by the media and the fans to win the MX championship this year before he wrecked his knee so I guess he should change his entire program again because he did not meet his and your expectations. Some of you expected Reed to win the championship in SX so I guess he needs to change everything also.
All I am really saying is if Mike was still out there racing and wining every weekend this would have never been brought up and you know that is 100% the truth.
MX is a small industry and it's a fine line that some of us more outspoken (ie: bigmouths) folks have to tread if we want to stay involved in the sport. It's not always easy, but I think Matthes does a pretty good job, even if he hasn't always given our Warthog program the love it deserves.
That said, I sure do wish you'd stop saying "of" instead of "have"...it offends my eyes and pisses me off. As in, "You should of given it a rest after your tenth post in this thread".
Thanks

Ryan wrecked his knee practicing- bummer
Mike broke his knee cap practicing- time to change entire program are you guys serious!
Grant broken heels- bummer
See my point, your guys distaste for Tony is the real topic but you guys keep betting around the bush and wont come out and say it, this is where the whole problem is. But you guys find it easier to judge and pick apart a kids program that is a 100% determined to win races and championships.
Every pro rider has things that the have done that if found out by the public would not look good in fact some of them would loose a lot of there sponsors and endorsements, the fact is when your getting results everyone is hush hush, but when you get hurt or not meeting the media or peoples expectation the B.S. starts rolling out. You guys are all about kicking the riders when the are down. The industry and life is now filled with a bunch of people that are 2 faced there to jump on the bandwagon when your doing good but as soon as something goes wrong your there to demoralize them and pick apart everything they are doing.
Believe it or not, but I sure don't see anyone breaking down my front door paying me for my opinion. It is Mikes life and his program and he is the one that is out there racing and putting his life on the line not you and at the end of the day and the only one that he has to make happy is himself not everyone else
