People that are into electric R/C cars/trucks/aircraft have been watching competitions for literally decades. But, you're not totally wrong, because there is a certain segment of spectator, likely one that doesn't ride and thinks of moto like it's nascar or monster trucks, that's going to post on the forums, " I CAN HERE IT DAMMIT" and he will certainly be missed. #ripcoorslightfan

Normal ones for (pro) racing and the weekends and electric bikes for backyard tracks and noise sensitive areas.
I live in fu..king Germany. They close track after track after track because of noise.
Electric bikes are NOT going to stop tracks closing. Environmental Nazis have hundreds of reasons to shut down tracks.. It a religious experience for them when a track or riding area gets shut down. I want electric Motorcycles to work, I hope Stark can get this thing going. Don’t think electric is the answer to tracks closing.

It’s a very narrow minded perspective. Think broader.

ICE and electric racing have co-existed in other sports.

I don’t think anyone (even stark) are under the impression that electric will completely replace ICE. Just opens up another avenue .

Maybe in the States, but here in Germany it’s noise, oil/fuel contamination and dust. First and second are eliminated by the electric bike snd the third can be dealt with by sprinklers.

It's true I have brought plenty of friends and family to races that knew jack shit about the sport. Once they watched the 40 man gate drop, guy's blitzing the whoops, and hitting a triple pinned wide open. They were in complete amazement of the sport and the athletes that competed in it. The engine being held wide open was a big part of that experience for them. Take it how you want, but the electric bikes will be our downfall.

I just don't think it's everything, such that it warrants the use of the word "downfall". I'm pretty sure the Coombs and Felds will find a way to monetize it.

OK, I won't go into what I think about your answer but think in terms of global sales numbers and what number that it is to keep a production line open? You keep loosing whole areas and countries and those purchasers of whatever power dirt bikes and Suzuki wont be the only one backing away from the sport.

I see your point. But once the electric bikes take over I'm out. No two ways about it. All the things I love about the sport will be gone. The noise, shifting at the right time, clutches, etc. But that's just me. If everyone else is cool with basically riding a Remote Control bike that doesn't take much skill to master? Good for them. I'm sure Feld won't miss me or the groups of people I take to the races.

No, You’re not “sounding” like a dick. You ARE a dick.

The ignorance in you is impressive.

I'm sorry you don't like my opinion or how feel about this issue. But unless something directly affects me, I don't give two shits. If you really want to get your panties in a bunch, I have never voted once in my life. Again if it doesn't affect my life or lifestyle I don’t care. I think electric bikes are the beginning of the end of a sport I dearly love. I'll stick by what I say.

I went to the SLC supercross with my family last year (I go every year it’s here, and the National when it was here)….and for supercross, I could live without the noise…it got annoying…my wife/kids would try and ask a question during the race and I couldn’t even answer it…Ears ringing…maybe I’m getting old…but the noise almost makes me not want to go back.

And as far as track closures…out of sight out of mind…can’t hear us? Can’t see us (keep the dust down), no reason to bother with us…it will keep tracks and riding areas open…no doubt about it.

Stop being so dramatic. Your family should know everything about the sport before they got there if you actually ride. Also it's not like there is 40 top fuel dragsters going around the track blowing out your ear drums. Outside of the 2 main events there is plenty of time to answer their questions. We're all in for a rude awakening when the sport, unfortunately , goes electric.

Relax.
Battery buzz bikes have been around longer than IC and are not taking over. They are toyz and novelty talking points.

They've been a failure the entire time because batteries are a hopelessly primitive way to store energy.

The idea that a miniscule start up like Stark could get to market 'the worlds best MX bike' before the Japanese and European majors even define that sector doesn't pass a clear thinking test.

PJRAUS : He got sick and tired of the d**kheads that just want to bitch about a bike / type of bike that They are not interested in.

I was in contact with him last night - he has just scored an absolutely pristine restored 78 CR250, and is going to put period correct mods to it.

I asked him if he's going to the Melbourne WSX, and he may not get to it - he's busy working on the Track he runs and lives at, and doing some Shearing - he's a Shearer, and They are among the hardest working people on the Planet - I did a bit of it in my younger years, and it is a brutal way to make a living. But, if you are good at it, it can be a pretty lucrative living. I gather he's been really good at it - His bike collection is pretty bloody impressive, by the way.

I thought of going to the Melbourne WSX, but, when I added up the Flights, Accommodation, Ticket price, I decided to go to Singapore to visit some friends - so, No accommodation costs! Woohoo - , and do a day trip to KL, and attend the MotoGP at Sepang that's on the same weekend as the WSX. I did it in 2018, getting out of bed in Singapore at around 6.30am, and getting back to my friends house at around 10pm that night. And, it will cost me for a week or two in Singapore, only a couple of hundred bucks more than a weekend in Melbourne....... Cool
