Oh my. Reality is we’re looking at 20 riders max in MXGP. Once we have injuries and fly away races will be the same as last year 16 riders lining up. I for one will not be paying for MXGP tv next year. Would love to see the numbers on how many pay the subscription I could image it’s dying down every year.
Nah. The factory riders + the sub-factory riders (guys like Van Doninck, TKO, Beaton, Lupino, Monticelli, Östlund, ...) and some wildcards (Jacobi, Spies,...) . You'll have at least 26 riders in the European rounds (when everyone is healthy, that is). Which is still too little, ofcourse.

It's currently £100 for the year including the 2023 MXoN. Probably is worth it but I understand what you're saying.

I don't see anything about Van Doninck yet, thought Gebben would pick him up. TKO is still out. No news about Beaton. Lupino to Beta? Monticelli probably no more GP's and Ostlund to 24mx would make sense with his connections (Sweden)

I will likely pay but will watch mostly EMX classes - watching closely Mikula, Marek (broke his pelvis on sunday racing ADAC...) and other guys giving it a go from around here. Sideways

You have Forato listed twice and Mitch Evans is at KRT. Vlaanderen I believe is staying put at Gebben.

Yeah i agree. I think we'll end with over 20 full time entries in both classes and will have a bunch of wildcards at the EU gp's.

300 euro for a wildcard, no emx open, 22 year old is no emx250... That pushes riders to the gp's.

Was talking to some Dutch fans at Nations and they say Kay De Wolf could be someone with his eye on racing in the US sometime in the next couple of years. Any legs to that rumor? Its great for our series when top international riders come here, but the GPs are really getting depleted, so I halfway hope he stays in Europe. Kid has great style and potential for sure.

Also, speaking of the Dutch team, what was up with Coldenhoff at Nations? He got lapped (I think without crashing) in one of his motos, was losing 5 seconds a lap to the top guys. That was really surprising. Was he hurt?

He said it himself in interviews so that’s what his goal is. He is testing Supercross soon and if all goes well should be coming to the states full time in 24.

Add many young fast riders leaving to the US like vialle, kay dewolf , the coenen bros. Top Talent will be depleted in a few years. Mxgp needs major changes in tracks and entree fees.

@Norcall. Coldenhoff had a first lap crash first moto after that small wall jump. Bike was mangled and he was hit by several riders. Second moto another crash and bike was too banged up to continue.. sucks after his amazing ‘18 performance.

I can see why De Wolf would love to go to the USA. He will have a factory ride for his time being in MX2, but at age 23 he has to go MXGP. Could be the same case as TKO, Beaton, Jacobi.. strong MX2 career but no future in MXGP. I think he has more talent then them but there is more money to be earned in the USA anyways, especially in 250s

Agree, but still a long way to go until he’s 23. Would love to see a Dutchie state side personally, even if it means you won’t see him ride locally anymore. Also think his style really fits in US competition.

This is Nothing new.

It's been going on for years.

You've got the combination of the draw (for some) of SX, And, Luongos 'Pyramid' (scheme) to bring "the best of the best" into the MXGP class, that forces riders up, or so very often, Out.

That Pr**k (Luongo) isn't intelligent enough to realize he drives out far, far more riders to the US, and the 'cleanliness'of SX, or, other Countries / back to other European / British series. I mean, it's been happening for decades now, but he doesn't seem to GAF.

If anyone here had watched the free to the net ADAC race last weekend, you'd have seen a good track, with full gates, multiple classes, of High quality riders, many of them refugees from Luongo The Drongos machinations.

There's an enormous amount of Racing in Europe, and large bike sales - well, it is small compared to Asian, Indian, African , South American markets, whose sales subsidize our 'Toys', but it has bigger sales than the US. It's not hard to find sales figures - heck, Australia with 26 million people, has larger sales of Motorcycles than California with 40+ million people, that is said to be the biggest, 'most important' US market of all.

Luongo just sees MotoGP, and now, WSBK, with their limited grids ( between just 20 to 30 ), and thinks that's all that's is needed. And (as much as it grates with me) he has a point (from His point of view) - it's all about what's on 'The Screen' to him and InFront. The f**ker is a multi millionaire from bleeding the sport, for decades now.

I utterly despise the mongrel, and wouldn't p**s on him if he was on fire - Evil

I truly hope that entry fees Are going to be lessened, And Real , Substantial travel assistance is brought in, as some have said is going to happen, but I'll not hold my breath on that actually happening. And, that finally, 'Prize', 'Purse' and 'Start' money is bloody well re-introduced . The best thing (hopefully) happening from the advent of WSX, and now Feld and MX Sports (seemingly) teaming up, is that Luongo / InFront , have a fright, and finally think of the Riders and Teams and the Sport , Not just Their bank accounts . But, will he / they ?????

I think this is very bad news. Not for Herlings (he'll make his money), but if Jumbo quits/pauzes Herlings due to the issues then for sure they will quit others in MX. They are a partner for Hutten, Riley, BT, Nestaan, Martens and the Dutch Masters if i'm not mistaken.

I think WZ & Oliver were just doing the final adac of the season so that's not directly an indication for 2023.
Kooiker was new indeed.

That makes sense, did not see his crash from where we were sitting (and have not watched it on TV yet). The track and conditions should have been right in his wheel house.

De Wolf is so young, its interesting that he is already looking beyond the GPs. He could have quite a few more years in MX2 and then slide into MXGP as the main Dutch superstar to replace Herlings if De Wolf continued to progress. Seems like a pretty good career path, though I suppose the pay gap between the GPs and the US series will continue to widen with the whole "Supermotocross" thing.

That was normally the idea, but I hear rumors that they are thinking about withdrawing the BETA from the MXGP series for following reason: The first bike was one without much electronics and they raced it to fine tune it. Now they are pretty much convinced "without electronics" is NOT the way to go. So they worked with GET (I thought) to integrate ECU and stuff on the bike they designed to be great without electronics... To be honest that isn't fine tuning anymore... And I've no idea how good the next gen. bike is and if they is already being drawn, designed, created, ...
