and the possibility of Kenny riding a GasGas there is a real possibility that the three best whoop riders are on the absolute worst bike for whoops. Last year we even saw Mookie get passed in the whoops. Overall Stewart had his best year so CC may follow suit and improve his entire game but as of now it's somewhat of an oddity.

*I'm well aware that the entire goal of racing is winning or getting closer to winning and Mookie had his best season ever, I just think it's a bit of an oddity that the undisputed two fastest whoop riders are on the bike that is historically known for trouble in the whoops.

Call me crazy but I believe the ktm group has a plan to fix the issues for 23.

It was crazy to see how Malcom lost his speed in the whoops last year. Hopefully they fix this. Kenny I think after he crash hard in the whoops a couple years ago while leading the race seems to have lost his confidence in them as well. A move to gas gas won’t help

Kenny crashed in a supercross qualifying race this year too in the whoops. Seemed To lose a lot of confidence.

I'm pretty sure the main goal of the redesign was to make the bike better in the whoops.

It will be funny if our debate turns out to be "Who is a better whoop jumper, Webb, Marv, Malcolm or Craig?"

I was under the impression he was.

As far as that goes, Malcolm seems to be looking quite a bit leaner between sx and now.

The GG chassis is not the same as the KTM/Husky its still the old chassis. Barcia commented last season he loved the setup because its same one Webb won his last title on.

For 23 they should be on the new chassis though.

I’d bet good money there will be another Barcia edition this winter which will be the new bike.

I guess with the point of GasGas being more budget friendly, it depends if they've used up their stock of old frames and stuff between the red bikes and the different coloured enduro bikes?

If they have then I'm with you, if not then I could totally see the Barcia edition being limited to some red and blue bits and a pipe.

Great observation. Makes me wonder if having this many great whoops riders if the ktm group could possibly learn some things moving forward from these guys.

Historically they haven’t had guys that were great whoops riders necessarily so what they could learn could have been limited. I’m thinking Marv, Webb, AP, Deano, ZO. Then again Anderson is pretty good in them.

Not sure the outcome, but great observation!

They’ll be on an FE that has the new frame and engine

Thought I heard they’re bringing a new factory edition out specifically with a revised frame especially for race team

GasGas riders in Europe were on the new frame. The new GasGas FE (or whatever they call it) will probably get a new frame. They may even be different that the KTM frames. Who knows, but the new FE KTM may have a new frame that will be on the 24s. It seems they had setup issues this year compared to years past.

In the last 8 years of 450 supercross the Austrian bike won 6 of them. I don’t think the bike will hold them back too much.

Maybe I’m wrong, but…. Didn’t Bubba attribute Mookies whooo speed to bike set up? I swore he commented on one of his podcasts that Malcom was struggling due to his setup, not necessarily the bike itself.

Yeah I remember hearing that somewhere too. Maybe when he was on Pulp?

Shocked it took that long for this comment. hahaha

I'm a well-known KTM hater and started this thread simply to shit on KTM's, nevermind the fact that I race a KTM 350XCF.

Maybe with a bunch of those championships Webb and before him Dungey could turn under anyone on the track and make up more time in the corners than they lost in the whoops. SMDH, no need to get butthurt about it.

Regardless, I'm actually excited to see where he stacks up in 450 sx, he was top 5 outdoors and I think he's more of an SX rider, defo gonna be able to get podiums.

I still never noticed it on a stocker from standing level. Still think it looks crappy.
