Started on a KX80. Then had a long string of Suzukis. Then a YZ250. Now a CRF450.

I have no real preference, other than being against KTMs for no good reason for years. I'm sure I'll own one at some point. The new 300 is toward the top of the list for my next bike.

The riders had nothing to do with this year's Honda purchase, but I did like seeing Sexton and Roczen have good races. Their smooth riding style is something to behold, but I can't help but think this bike can't be ridden any other way! If you want to ride it on the ragged edge you need to do some homework and set it up accordingly.

Dungey was so improved on the 2016, I went to my dealer that Tuesday and ordered one after just seeing how light on his feet he looked. The new yamaha will prolly do the same thing at A1.

I don’t buy bikes based on what my favourite pros are riding. I buy bikes based on which is the most aesthetically pleasing to me.
When you’re not a pro all the bikes are good enough so I just pick my displacement, strokes and the one that looks the nicest imo.
Right now it’s the new husky.

I don’t care for matchy matchy.
I’m slow, I should look slow. If you look fast and ride slow you’re a peacock!

It works for me. I ride a lot of Swedish and Spanish twinshockers so this bike feels extremely rigid. My last modern bike was a 15 yzf so that only adds to the rigidity I feel. I've only got 10 hours on and it continues to get better. The longer link also helped me with the bike getting headshake and kicking up on the rough chop. The shock is also extremely reactive to any adjustments.

Watching the Yamaha 250's the last few years certainly swayed my decision towards looking to purchase one. I have never really considered one before. I went to a demo day and looked for one in my area. That being said, I went with what our local dealer had that was the best deal and best support if things go wrong, which was a Kawasaki.

I don’t buy my bikes based on any pros. But there are definitely some pros that make me NOT buy certain brands.

If you don’t think McGrath or Ricky sold their fare share of bikes then i don’t know what to tell you. Maybe it was more so...

Hank I really could't check any of the boxes there , even though one was partly true.

I bought my first two race bikes because of a couple of my idols. Bought my 82' RM 125 because of Mark Barnett. And then bought my 85' KX 125 because of Jeff Ward. Every bike after those two , I don't think a rider really influenced me. But if a certain team looked super strong a certain year , the bike interested me.
