Huh

The DJIA was roughly 13.5% lower than the ≈31k figure in that picture exactly 2 years prior from that date, and the DJIA was more than 16% lower than that ≈31k figure within that 2 year period.

I'm pretty sure the DJIA didn't even surpass that value until February of 2021.

How embarrassing Blush

I feel it's pretty well spelled out in my original responses. Do you actually need me to type the whole thing out again just to make my point yet again?

Even using today's numbers (which I was obviously not commenting on in the past, and I don't feel like I should need to disclaim, but here we are Dizzy ), it still doesn't work out how you imply. Maybe this little trick will help you:

The alligator eats the big number. 27,173.96 < 29,590.41

Now I'm just waiting for a day in which the 2 year number does surpass the current date's so you can "get me", as if that will somehow invalidate my previous comments. Man, I bet I'll sure feel stupid then Wink

Looking at that chart, i made nothing on my investments since the pandemic and suffered a 40 year high inflation rate, so my guess is in real world spending power is down around 15% so realistically your 30k dow is really only 25500.
I've seen this before, this is a huge hit to average joe, not only have you lost on your investment savings, future income but you are earning 15% less with respect to your current income.

If you think this is good well, I need some of what you are smoking.

My posts have been limited to the DJIA numbers during specific time periods.

I made no comments about good, bad, inflation, investment performance, earnings, or politics despite what some seem to insist.

People post up bogus comparisons to feed the outrage machine, and I posted the correction. My apologies if I was being too mean about it. I thought it was a fairly even response.

I heard McCarthy describe it this way. You now have to work a whole month for free this year because of inflation.
This year it takes 12 months of work to buy the same stuff you only had to work 11 months last year to buy.
Maybe some people will understand it better when it's described this way.

Let’s or forget the Market Geniuses that compare what’s going on NOW to what went down during COVID! Grinning

Next up: we’ll have a bunch of I.C.E’d dirt bike owners tell us about The Climate Crisis.

I laughed when Psaki left... She is a smart women who can think on her toes and they replaced her with the literal opposite of ole circle back. Imagine if your Biden and your employee became the person on TV dogging the shit out of you and saying the party needs to get away from him. That has to sting a bit

The new woman may be a sweetheart, but she sucks at her job.

Question: Pakistan says or big cities aren't safe, what does the administration say?

Jean-Pierre: We are working to work on Medicare and other plans to make life better, blah,blah,blah...

What the fuck? Over.

At least Psaki could lay out some bullshit that was in the same stratosphere as the question.

Chevron in Encinitas today had Premium at $6.99. Time to shop around again, I thought gas was going to drop until November

Outside of varying state has taxes…I don’t get the fluctuation from state to state, county to county, and sometimes city to city. It makes no sense to me?

And we will see how long the decreases last…

And let’s be real…lower income people with two kids and a mortgage are ALWAYS struggling…sure inflation has made it worse…but they were already struggling. (At least they have a mortgage so their landlord can’t jack up their rent though)

I have a mortgage but my monthly cost are skyrocketing. Property taxes raise every year and are now over $8,000 a year, last months SDGE bill finally broke into 4 figures - with solar, water $200+ per month with rationing. Sometimes I wonder if I should sell this place and go buy a boat and live at the harbor. It’s going to be very hard to keep it if I’m ever able to retire. And no I am not wealthy, I live n a middle class neighborhood and pound nails for a living.

I honestly dont understand why anyone would want to live in California…but I wish those that leave would either keep driving through Utah, and on to Colorado…or if they insist on staying, change their voting habits (they are gradually trying to turn Utah into California…the place they left because it wasn’t as good as here, and it wasn’t as good because of the people they voted for).

For reference…My house is valued at around $1.2m (for now…lol) with 4500 sq feet (2250main floor with a 2250 sq ft finished basement)…my property taxes are just over $3k/year…

My water, gas, garbage, electric is about $300/month on average. (I don’t have solar). I can’t fathom paying four figures for utilities.

Good news for you is that as the housing market softens and values fall, your property taxes should start falling as well…

I think this abortion crap is really going to hurt republicans in the mid terms. Not that Republicans aren't crazy either. I think we're in for a wild ride over the next two years. I miss 2019
