I know some other folks like Tom White, Ludo Boinnard, Larry Huffman, Jim Holley jumped in too. I spent the weekend at Endurocross in Vegas and saw Brad there. He wants to get Danny a super trick sprinter van with appropriate lifts and controls plus sleeping arrangements for Danny so he can travel doing MX schools and clinics.

Please help out if you can!

One of our SCI patients has a sprinter van and he likes it....big van, but for him, seems like a good choice...

Saw him like 3-4 weeks ago teaching kids at a private spot.....cool bench racing session; he shared lots of ideas and old memories.

I'll tell ya this much, we could all learn a lot from spending some time with Danny. I had the pleasure of hanging out with him a few years ago at Glen Helen and then working with him on a couple projects. He changed the entire approach of what we try to do at RiderDown.org. SCI & TBI became our top long term priorities when determining how to allocate our resources. Sure, we still help out riders and their families with other crash related injuries but being in a chair or not being able to take care of yourself trumps breaking a couple bones and having to miss a few weeks of work!

There is a lot more that we as a sport should be doing for guys like Magoo and for all the amateur/recreational riders that don't have a fan base behind them when they go down.

Just started framing up a specific fundraising idea to help him some more. I should have details/pics in the not so distant future.

What's your deal dude? I never thought of you as a douchebag until your other post about Magoo. Hasn't he been through enough? Since you obviously don't have anything nice (OR RESPECTABLE) to say, then why say anything at all? What is your problem? (If you feel like replying, start your own thread or PM me, but please don't screw up this thread about Danny.)


Back on topic... I don't have a frickin dime to spare right now but I know a guy who owns a place that converts vans for paras. He's located in Sacramento and I might be able to call in a favor to get the conversion done for a lot less money than reatail. Maybe even for cost of parts.

I don't know for sure if I can help, but I'd be glad to start making calls if it's neccessary.

We're headed up north next weekend to tape a video from Brad (Jody Weisel's idea!) to send around the world. I think there is also a rendering of what the van will look brewing too!
