Thanks for starting the thread.. IF all contributing parties remain civil and open-minded... this could prove to be very informative discussion...You will, most likely, find some "words" or "theories" that contradict one's long time beliefs.

Please remain open minded if this happens.

One of the main reasons for this topic is to "dive in" to many of the "parroted" and "regurgitated" info that is running rampant via forums and social media.

One such example is that squish clearance determines the octane requirement.. Another is that cranking compression determines the octane requirement.. There are other in the area of combustion as well. One of the, if not , the biggest is the "Spark Plug Color" theory and that the color will inform one of how "correct" you jetting is..

If you want we can dive into any or all of these?
