Kenny - Team Player

I gotta say wasn't a fan of Kenny road blocking Tomac.

I get it. KTM camp has done it many times. Every brand tries to an extent. I guess history has had this many times. But yeah a little bit of a bummer as I thought it would rob us of a good race. Tomac did make it interesting though.

But yeah one would think Kenny isn't going back there next year. He clearly (looking at the times) only had pace whilst Tomac was behind him. Dropped anckor once he was passed. I wouldn't have a problem and I don't really have a major issue with it. But I would prefer if he was doing that. Try the whole race. Dont just race 5 laps only to hold up a championship player.

Tomac getting off balance in the rut robbed us of a good race, Kenny barely had any effect.

Kenny seemed torn between racing forward and being a team player. He did make it tough for Chase too even though he eventually yielded to him. Tough to be in his position I'd imagine but seems like he did the right thing.

I think he should have just let Tomac by and then tried to stay right on him/them. Let the top two guys go for it...the way Eli and Chase have raced this year they have earned that.

All he did was help Chase get a 5-second lead and then dropped anchor. Was he really thinking about helping Honda??? I am not sure about that. Maybe he prefers Chase to win over Eli? I don't know.

Im going to guess Tomac wont be sharing a plane with the Roczen family after that. Most don't know how close the two are off the track

Kenny did the right thing. He wasn’t cross jumping or hitting Eli, he just made it hard on him. Exactly what you want a teammate to do.

Same thing for Craig with Sexton, Craig didn’t just let chase by in the first race but didn’t do anything dangerous.

LOL if you think that would affect a friendship they may or may not have.

All a matter of perspective; if Roczen was on any other colour bike in that exchange with Tomac, would you still think he did anything wrong or wasn’t playing fair?

All I saw was two great riders battling for position early in a race. It wasn’t like Roczen was blocking or Tomac had nowhere to pass.
Did it help Chase? Yes, but no matter who was between Tomac and Sexton, Eli still has to work his way past them.

If you want to see some road blocking, and questionable tactics, watch the final round of the 2017 Las Vegas SX. Or thumb through Friese's body of work.

Kenny is out there racing for position just like Craig was and neither was being lapped. Of course they are going to race their own teammate differently. I watched a couple of fantastic motos today where two dudes pushed each other to the limit, and saw zero problems with anyone's race craft. Everyone operated within a respectable reason. Managing other competitors on the track whether they're being passed or lapped is a part of all forms of racing.

If Ferrandis was out there, in the same spot as Kenny, do you think he'd just pull over?

Roczen's begging Honda to send him a life buoy -with a contact attached to it.

I don’t get the ”move out of the way for the title contenders” some of you guys have.

If you want to be the best you should have to race all the guys on track, not just the other guy that have a shot at the title.

By that standard we could just do two man races as soon as it’s just between two riders that can win the title..

Roczen is still hot property and will get a decent contract wherever he ends up

Craig didn't let Sexton by any easier moto 1 and neither would have Ferrandis

It’s called a RACE! Ken was racing. WTH goes on in some peoples heads. He wasn’t a lapper, pretty sure he’s still allowed to try and hold his position. Don’t watch the race is you don’t like how actual racing is done.

This just in…next weekend will only be open for title contenders. We will see a 1on1 Eli vs chase and Jett vs jo. Geez some of you guys are ridiculous. How dare someone go out and try to race against a guy in the championship hunt.

If anyone got held up it was Kenny at the start of the 2nd Moto trying not to pass Chase.

I guess Kenny did the right thing from am employer standpoint ,but this is what the third time elos opponents teammate held him up in a title situation? Tickle , Dungey, now sexton, makes his championships that much more impressive he's always racing 2 guys

Idk I’m Tomacs biggest fan boy and didn’t see anything wrong with it. It’s racing, and it’s not like it was gonna be super difficult for Tomac to get by him anyway

So what you’re saying is there should be no one else on the track to hold up either rider? Just a 2 man race?

I will say at this last race, if a teammate pulls any shenanigans from either side, it would be a crying shame and never forgotten.

Yeah, all the factory teams are fighting to hire him.

Shit has happened in the past but I can't see either Craig or Roczen deliberately taking out the opposition. They sure will race hard but not dirty.

With what's at stake I'd understand if Tomac and Sexton start banging bars.

1) I would actually love to see two motos of just Tomac vs Chase to decide this thing. It seems fitting the way the series has gone. We would truly know who is best then. Round 13??? I would pay to watch it.

2) The comments about Kenny come from the fact that as soon as Tomac passes him KR slows way down. What is the point? Is he still hoping for a new Honda contract?

3) I guess I just wanted to see the top two battle. Too bad Eli made the mistake right when it was getting good.

The second moto Kenny did not help Chase at all the first two laps. He raced him hard but clean same with Tomac. No one should complain about team orders on this one.

When Kenny pulled over. After the race, did Eli have a crybaby fest like he did with Musquin and Dungey or did he finally get over it?

Kenny rode clean.

Going to be very interesting if Kenny gets out front in either of the final 2 moto's and the contenders are pushing him

I don't know that he did much different to what he's done all year, although he definitely let Chase by once he realised it was him... As close as Eli and Chase are though, it literally doesn't have to be much.

In Aus, the battle for MX1 title was down to the final moto with Aaron Tanti and Dean Ferris. Honda team at the second last round entered Wilson Todd in both classes, he did both qualifyings and raced moto 1 in mx2 and won the title. Then raced Moto2 in mx1 to try help ferris, then raced mx1 n both motos at the last round.

I'm really shocked they haven't put Hunter Lawrence up to try help, the more Honda's on track the better to help chase. Put Kenny on one side and Hunter on the other of Eli off the start. Nothing dirty just more red around Eli the better.

It would make sense if Hunter didn’t have a chance at 2nd in the series
