Hunter has done some of his best riding at the MXoN and EvAns (not Evens) was solid the last time he raced Red Bud and he's improved massively since then. Honestly Jett worries me a bit, seems like he's super eager to represent his country, but maybe a bit too eager, I worry he could get too into it and crash. Then again, he could also use that eagerness to put on the performance of a lifetime. Or, maybe I'm wrong about how eager he is and he just does fine. Excited to see how he does.

On paper, USA, France, Australia and the Netherlands all have very solid teams and they all have a good shot at taking the win. Where those countries finish is probably gonna be largely decided by luck.

Luck is something Australia lacks and that’s what worries me

We need hunter on the 450 and jett on the 250. Jett has been better at starts and passing all year. Hunter claims he is better on the 450 and jett is arguably the best 250 rider on both sides of the pond.

I was talking with my brother about this and we both share your view. Jett has been the better starter out of the two this year which is needed against the 450's and i think has the edge speed wise over Hunter. Plus, as you said, Hunter likes the 450.

There is also another option, put both Lawrence brothers on 450's and get Wilson Todd on the 250. I'm not sure how he stacks up against Mitch Evans in terms of speed but he's been killing it over here lately in MX2 and also rides for Honda

Lost me with that last paragraph, keep the Lawrence bro's with what they know and Evans is a better rider than Todd anyway

Agree. Look at Wilson Todd last season in mx2. He was around 10-15most races. Yea he is doing good this season in aus. But the level of competition is a long way from ama or mxgp

This ^^^ makes too much sense. I don’t understand how the Jett 450/ Hunter 250 is a better option?
I’ll be happy to be wrong though….

It's prob not the better option for team aus.
It's a hrc decision. it's the better option for them and they are the ones paying.
So this 2 weeks off jett is testing for a base setting on the 450 for next season. He will be switching to factory suspension from fc suspension. Then the weeks after the final round he again is testing the hrc 450.
Jett is doing this regardless of racing mxon.
And that's the reason why jett is racing 450 at mxdn.
Otherwise honda will be testing 450s for hunter aswell.

If Jett comes up with settings as good as Sexton's on the HRC 450 by MXON he will inflict pain.

I wouldn't sleep on France or any team with GP regulars. Its easy to forget just how fast they are. I think "don't fall" will be one of the deciding factors on the day.

As much as I want to see team USA win it this year there is no doubt Australia is gonna be the biggest competition for the win with the lineup they have.

I'd say it's more a Lucas mirtle driven decision, not that he tells hrc what to do but I can almost promise you he was the first to push this idea based on Jett's success and how he can sell that to sponsors for the hrc factory team as well as jett's personal deals. There's nothing wrong with that either, they're all betting big on Jett and this will be his first showcase, if it works out, which is seemingly a safe bet that his 450 debut will go well then everyone wins.

I think Dazzy would be decider on what happens. The rest can have a strong input… but from what I hear, Dazzy calls the shots haha

But the whole situation is a win win. We see Jett on a world platform, Test his 450 settings and gets his feet wet in the big boys class on a track that is familiar.

If Jett finishes top 5. Would be amazing

Mitchell Evans form and results from MXGP of Sweden @ sandy Uddevalla last weekend have shortened the odds of Australia's outright or podium result. Winner of qualifying race with fastest time, 10th in moto 1 and 4th in moto 2 with fastest lap time again for 6th OA. Good to see him coming back to form.
