This was on featured in the latest Racer X racerhead with a quote from David Pingree.

"There’s been a lot of talk about the son of former factory Yamaha rider Mike Craig, Christian Craig, lately. The young rider is all set to make his pro debut in two weeks at the X Games on a 450 Yamaha. He’s got Ryan Villopoto’s former mechanic, Jon Mitcheff, taking care of his bikes and helping him get ready, and it looks like he is going to turn some heads. I watched him ride at a local supercross track this week and I was impressed with what I saw. Don’t be surprised if he runs up front in the Moto X event in Los Angeles. Here’s a video that was put together by some of his supporters."

If were all nobodys, then why the f do people keep posting shit about him on here? Why promote him to a bunch of nobodys?

Hey I'm cheer leading for him. For a kid to come out his first pro race on a 450, That's Bradshaw style.

He was a breakout rider at Mini O's last year.

A true threat for top 5.

So your saying a "breakout rider" at some amateur race is top 5 fast against pros? The X Games tracks haven't been the same as, lets say a Anaheim sx track, so I'm not saying he doesn't have a chance. I hope the kid does well, but I'm not drinking the kool aid one this one. Out of the names listed below, anyone want go out on a limb and predict where he finishes. I know this is the invited list and not the confirmed lost, but it's all we have at this point.

Moto X Super X- Men Athlete Name Country
Matt Boni USA
Justin Brayton USA

Christian Craig USA
Josh Grant USA
Josh Hansen USA

Quietly kicking ass gets a ton more respect then being blown up with hype and being better than average.

Kinda like hollywood/pop stars that live in the limelight of "look at how bitchen I am and how much money I have" and then act shocked when average people rejoice when they have a SERIOUS fall from grace.

I wish the kid a lot of luck, just wish he would do it on the down-low, a least until his winning puts him in the limelight.

out of that same list right there.. Minus Stewart and Craig..

Would you have even in your wildest dreams though that Josh Hansen would have not only holeshotted, but won the race??

No.

Nobody did.

It's the x-games..Once a year event with a lot at stake...anybody can win.

who's to say CC won't spank everybody?

Especially if Mcgrath starts in second again and holds everybody else up Whistling

Looking at the list... how does Christian Craig even get the invite?

Jake Moss, Cody Cooper USA? Shouldn't that be OZ land and NZ land?

Here is a somewhat of an updated list.

Matt Boni USA
Justin Brayton USA
Cody Cooper USA
Christian Craig USA
Josh Grant USA
Josh Hansen USA
Broc Hepler USA -- not racing
Josh Hill USA -- not racing
Jason Lawrence USA
Jeremy McGrath USA
Ryan Morais USA -- not racing
Jake Moss USA
James Stewart USA
Blake Wharton USA
Kevin Windham

Christian has ridden with Brayton, Moss, Blose and Sleeter so far and he's been right there.

No one on here is saying he is going to win, he just decided to take a different route than the other kids and we've been documenting his journey. so for someone to bash him is just pathetic.

if anyone personally knows Christian; he's the most shy, non rockstar kid you'll ever meet. he has great work ethic and is the furthest thing from a so cal brat.

i'm not bashing the kid, all the best of luck to him...

but this is really reminding me of the "believe the hype"... what with all the videos coming out, saying he is right there with so and so.

ps... it wasn't necessarily mikey starting all the hype. it was the people around him. just sayin.

I heard through the grapvine, that that one of his sponsors is vans and thats how he got in. I also heard that some of the other amateurs could of got in too but, were a little afraid to make a pro debut with such stiff competition. Good luck to christian. Hope he does well.

If I had a badass kid coming up, what kind of crappy ass music could I put in his video? I would want something really really bad though. I was a pretty big fan of Mike Craig. Always seemed to have his head screwed on pretty decent, of course the internet wasn't around back then either! Hopefully his kid won't be overhyped and will do good. Looking forward to seeing some of that next generation out there on the track.

Maybe he has a mysterious stomach ailment?
I think Mike Craig's demon was Bob Hannah. I seem to remember Mr. Hannah didn't have the highest opinion of Mike.

I can 100% without a doubt squash both those grapevine rumors.

neither is true.

Christian doesn't ride for VANS as of January of this year so you got some bad info.

VANS dropped everyone who didn't have an existing contract including the 09 season.

and as for other amateurs getting offers, that didn't happen.

with all due respect, this wasn't an easy task and his agent did a great job getting him in this event.

That is so true christian is the most easy going laid back kid i know. He is not one to be cocky or talk crap. He will let his results show who he is. Cant wait to see it happen.

He should change his first name to Craig. Josh Grant should change his first name to Grant & Bubbles to Stewart & J-Law to Lawrence.

I'd love to see Stewart Stewart , Lawrence Lawrence ,Craig Craig & Grant Grant going at it.

Before you go out on a limb, have you seen any of these riders in the past month ride on a sx track?
