I have it on Steam and no update for me...however as per previous page I only picked just downloaded it in the last few hours so maybe the update was part of that.
People looking to level up bikes quick, I just racked up my points by playing a 3 lap sx track race on repeat until I got the track down and winning on legends difficulty. Once you can do this you can make 1000 credits every 3 to 4 mins because the race is so short. Had a full built 125 and decent 450 within an hour or two last night
First thing that stands out is....it's rough.
The menus for vehicle selection especially are dog shit...trying to select your vehicle out of a massive long line scrolling left to right is horrible...and the bike pictures are very shit making it hard to pick. I bought the DLC ones too to I have a LOT of vehicles to search through.
The obvious way to design this would be sub menus:
* Vehicle type
* Capacity
* Brand
But nope all jammed in together...its hot garbage.
I play on UW 3440 screen and while the game itself scales fine, the menus are stretched and again look terrible.
Another easy solution...just scale the menus to their native res and have black bars down the sides.
Now the game...oh what a mixed bag it is.
First I'll address the goon riding...I play in 3rd person for the FOV and the rider itself seems okay to me. It's nowhere near as goon as the rider was when Alive first released pre goon fix.
The graphics I find are fine....we're not talking Avatar here but they do the job IMO.
Engine sounds need a LOT of work...the 2 stroke sounds are garbage...the 450 is passable but the engine sounds constantly cut in and out...bugged I guess.
The start line animations are terrible and look cheap...needs a lot of work here. Even a 5 second countdown or something...and the riders wrist moving revving the throttle is also bad on the line.
So yeah the game is rough but...BUT!!!!
It plays a lot like Reflex to me. I know they lost the code for Reflex, but this is damn near spot on...and it's farking hard with a really high skill level. I agree it gets better when you unlock upgrades but the 125 is still pretty trash especially SX tracks.
I actually dont mind the compromise system they have gone with for the upgrades...there's no one cookie cutter build...menus are still trash though.
Also...terrain deformation is there, but IMO it's a bit too subtle and in the races where I have tested it, it seems bugged. I was doing donuts off the start line and instead of ruts going down, the terrain rose up lol.
I'm hoping it lives up to the promise that it's going to get constant development as there is a solid game under the hood here it just needs more time in the oven. If it doesn't get some major love over time it will struggle to retain players and it will be off to a bad start with what they released.
But it's the closest thing to Reflex we are going to get and fans have asked for it for years and when we get it, people are saying trash physics, too slippery etc...that WAS Reflex...very difficult to master and learn the tracks but once you did it was a total blast and extremely satisfying to play.
This isn't an insta-grat game and very rough around the edges so I totally get the criticism. And I'm also not a fan of career mode locks to bikes and upgrades etc. I take it I have to unlock this shit to be competitive online?
In closing and after a couple of hours played, I'm gonna take the gamble and keep it...I'm only just inside the refund window.
Edit: Just as I posted and went to go back and have another go a 3.7gb update has dropped, so they are working on it.
Due to each of the platforms having their own patch update systems, PlayStation and PC platforms are currently live, while v1.07 will hit XBOX next week.

Edit: Just tried it through headphones and doesnt sound as good as speakers...still a lot better.
And this must be where the goon rider comments come from as the rider position is totally whacked out on the 250 2 stroke.
Pit Row
What I don’t understand though is how they messed up the sounds so bad. The 125 sounds good. The 250’s and 450’s sound atrocious though! How can milestone get the sounds so good but Rainbow can’t? It’s not even decent. It’s horrific.
Played it all day...PC on Steam.
Online is dead...literally the most I've seen on is 3 other people in the same game.
I've seen at most 7 other individuals.
I'm on Series x and the game is really glitchy and buggy.
Hopefully they work this stuff out, however as it's been said a million times.... it shouldn't be like this! Stop putting out unfinished, unrefined crap and depending on patches to get it playable. Because the sliding and bouncing all over didn't happen in "testing" right?
There are also some weird physic anomalies that are difficult to describe. Random slow spikes for no apparent reason (was hoping to get away from that after the milestone games), random times the bike will react in an utterly weird way or the rider will suddenly destruct on take-off etc. But again overall enjoyable despite the issues. Hammering around an SX track on the 125, trying to clear stuff, was fun and gave me some 90s SX nostalgia.
Goon stance remains on point tho
The 1 snow MX track is kinda fun. The reboot track from All-Out is fun, thats it. Also have no desire to explore the farm, its just meh to me.
