You think Windham...

... is kicking himself for staying home? I think he would have won an outdoor championship this year. Would IT9, Grant and Reed match up to a trained, fit and on form Windham? Guess we will never know. That kinda sucks.

Would've / wouldn't have... doesn't matter. He has my respect and is very talented. Still my very favorite guy to watch ride a bike (Barcia is getting there though)

He's smart. I don't think he should let titles define him. If he's happy in his home life that's all that really matters.

windham is probably not kicking himself because he is healthy, and is still able to do what he wants when he wants.. he will be back soon enough..

Is he kicking himself for getting 5th in the 2007 championship? He was beaten by Langston, Alessi, Short, and Ferry. What makes you think he would win this year? Also, an unfit Reed smoked a fit Windham at Budd's Creek in 2007. I doubt aging 2 years has made KW faster.

That would be my move.....lol

At this point I doubt Windham has much left to prove, he is going to do his thing in SX and enjoy life....more power to him.

you guys probably know as well as i do, even that chit gets boring...... i was laid off from work one summer for 2 months and i was just about to go mad..... if racing mx was my life, and i had to sit out for 8 months of the year, i'd be in jail or the loony bin before the next season started.... hell, racing mx isn't my life, and i start getting PO'd if i haven't raced for a couple weeks....

Windhams performance in last years SX series was mediocre. His sx only thing is just a way to milk a few more million out of the sport before he officially retires. There is a reason he could not put together a money making deal for the Nationals........never has won a title in his pro career.

His racing career aside, Kevin seems like a cool guy who loves to ride dirt bikes in 4th - 10th place. Like Millsaps it is about the money not the wins or titles. Play it safe and take the money.

The sport now has two layers of riders. Those who want to win and those who have no intention of winning. Times change. Riders change. The age rule will level everything out in 4 years and get rid of the "career" racers.

kevin's obviously a cool guy and a great rider....

but, if anyone actually believes that he'd have won this championship I think they've been sniffing too much glue.
The quote above sums it up.

Also, there's no way Kevin would've even tried to match Josh Grant's / Reed's speed in the last 3 or 4 motos.

Would have liked to have seen him out there on a smoker or a 250F, but never thought for a second that he would have been champ. He would have needed about 5 other guys to crash out probably. Not bagging on him, as K-Dub seems like a pretty outstanding character, but come on. Let's get real.
