Think about what you are saying... The European Union uses Russian and Saudi crude oil directly. The US uses Canadian the most, followed by Saudi, then Russian with its total of 4% or 700,000 barrels per day coming here. The Saudis were cutting production because they had massive reserves at that particular time because of heavy production. Trump stated they were pulling away from Saudi oil dependency and boosting the US. Biden has already depleted what we were building in reserves until DAY 1 in office when he shut down the pipeline, eliminated fracking, and slowed production down in the US. So he IMMEDIATELY made the price of oil more costly thanks to the pipeline, supply lower thanks to fracking, and demand higher. Thus price goes up... Factor in Saudi who was already cutting production based on reserves and now you have high demand and low supply. Biden then wanted more production to help cut costs but instead of turning to his own backyard he went to the Saudis.

That asshat from the New York Times "leading progressive author" is just that. Some asshat who hated Trump and will spin shit to make Trump the culprit when things worsted because of the Biden administrations immediate decisions which they were so proud of at the time. You now have an administration who walked back things Trump did to prove a point and it has backfired ten fold.

Inflation was created at first by rising oil prices. Shipments were more expensive coupled with the raising wages and lower output. This is a recipe for disaster, all economics work off of supply and demand in its most basic form. High supply, low demand inversely low supply high demand and thus expensive. Add in the federal reserve printing money at alarming rates trying to "stimulate" the economy due to covid and low output from suppliers and now you have an american dollar that is deflated with further issues.

All of this could have been prevented, and this administration has lied continuously to the American public trying to save face and hoping for a hail mary miracle.

In the end, the Republicans will take control of Congress in November and I really hope they do the right (and difficult) thing for the American people. Work on the budget deficit, infrastructure (not paying lobbyist but actually working on roads, bridges, railways, electrical grids etc) and build back the country. Is this glamorous? Hell no, but it is essential and get off of this bull shit ideology politics that has taken Washington by storm.
Pretty funny that your criticism of the source is that he is an 'asshat Trump hater' when it is plainly obvious that your rebuttal is from a died-in-the-wool Democrat hater.

Anyway, maybe you can explain how Biden is to blame for gas prices worldwide following virtually the same trend?

You are completely missing the entire premise. Also, I am not a "died-in-the-whool democrat" hater. I have voted blue before, and I will do so if they are the best for the job in my opinion. When it comes to gas prices you are missing the point that as a global resource it comes from 4 major countries. Russia, Saudi, Canada, US. In the event of high demand/low supply the first thing oil companies do is raise prices hence the overall trend. Again, this isn't rocket science. If you are selling a pen at price x and the supplies to produce this pen become more expensive due to high demand and low production you offset costs by raising prices. All of the countries you showed were affected by the exact same scenario the US has faced which does make it a global issue. But it does not make it a Trump fault nor does it mean his direct policies were the catalyst to start higher prices. Again, the US can be energy independent which would thus allow us not to follow the curve of the global issue. You have essentially proven my point for me. Which is why I say you need to do some more research to understand global and domestic economics

So the USA , under Trump, is producing more oil than it needs and is a net exporter.. USA is self sufficient in Oil and the Keystone Pipeline will ensure that supplies from Canada can also be used in the whole of North America.

As the US isnt having to import Oil from the Middle East, the demand for their oil , is lower, and so is the price.

Everything is going great, transport costs are stable, and everyone is enjoying a good economy, manufacturing is up, jobs are up , and there is no war... seems great .

Then Biden gets 'elected'

Turns it all off, instantly... so now instead of the USA being able to control the price of its own fuel, it has to go back out into the world market to buy it, against the backdrop of ' a world pandemic' ..

And so the reason Gas prices are through the roof everywhere , is because the moron in the White House decided it was a good idea to stop producing your own, and buy it on the world market and call it ' a win for everyone'.

We are paying the equivalent of $10.50 a gallon for Diesel here in the UK , because your ' leader' is a fucking moron.

So saying it wasnt Biden, cos its happening everywhere, is as dumb as rocks , because what asshat goes out and pays twice as much money from his neighbour for something he has in his own garden. Unless its on purpose of course, which it is .

Or as i said in another thread, lets assume its all an accident, just coincidental, for shits and giggles.

If someone did decide just to screw it up on purpose, what would they be doing differently?

You know it's funny you are from GB. I have a few lads I speak with across the pond who look at the US and laugh. They think the US is absolutely stupid for electing Biden and stated we have become a bunch of pussies. Frankly, I agree.

Thats because we dont have to watch your news...

The trouble is, folk thinking this is Republican V Democrat, are way off the mark.

Its the Establishment v The People .

And from here , its so obvious its laughable.

I am sure Brian Stelter disagrees.

I must applaud you gentleman on one fantastic hijack of whoever the thread was about. This was as well planned and worked to perfection. This clusterfuck administration should put some of you guys in the Senate, at least something would get done the right way. And did I mention? Let’s go Brandon before I go put $150 of gas in my 1/2 ton truck

Easy there mate.

If you look at the charts, the price started going up in 2020 when the orange genius was in office and before the election took place.

The trend only continued under Biden.

As far as the Keystone Pipeline goes, none of that oil was going to the US to keep our costs down.

Biden has nothing to do with your price at the pump.

You can't even decipher your own god damn graphs haha!

Look real close to where March of 2021 would be. Then look to the left of where it was a year before. THEN.......scroll to your right and watch it go up a steep cliff!

Trump took that line down a rocky road.......Biden drove it strait up a cliff! Jesus dude , what fucking graphs you looking at? LMFAO!

If you actually look at the chart you linked you will see the US hovered around the same price around .5 up until 2021 with the low being high .4's. You even provided evidence against yourself by posting the other charts which show a more rapid rise in gas prices.

On a more basic note and one that does not require much effort to understand this is literally copy and pasted about the keystone pipeline "The Keystone XL Pipeline consists of two parts. The first is the Gulf Coast Project. This portion would transport oil over 435 miles through 36" pipe running from Cushing, Oklahoma to Port Arthur, Texas. The second segment, called the Keystone XL, would run 1,179 miles from Hardisty, Alberta to Steele City, Nebraska"

Good god man, start reading and thinking for yourself. By all means defend things that are good (if you can find them currently) but the internet is riddled with information proving you wrong and you refuse to look at what is directly in front of your face. Orange guy bad we get it, but guess what? Bad orange guy is still 5 x better than Brandon. It is embarrassing that people are so brainwashed and the classic Trump cultist, Faux news bad shenanigans. Logic is hard to come buy apparently when you watch MSNBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, and every single other bull crap news network pushing narratives. The CIA have been involved with the news for decades and even been newscasters themselves to control narrative. Why is it that the entire media network has all leftist channels and the one major gop sided network is the root of all evil providing miss-information? Isn't ironic that Twitter owned by the democrats starts having a meltdown when Elon Musk who is as central as can be decides to purchase it? They are puppet of the leftist and now all of a sudden you had a new disinformation board (failed miserably thank god), and all of the pushback by the white house and media alike? Why didn't they have the issues before Elon wanted to buy it? Why is it allowed for Bezos to own the Washington Post? Literal hypocrites in black and white right before everyones eyes.

All of this ties together, and dumb ass people who do not pay attention to the larger picture believe its for the better of the "people". All major cities crime is up under Biden, all borders are more open under Biden, all prices are up under Biden, all production is down under Biden, all small businesses are getting crushed under Biden. What more do you need to see that things are not good? This isn't a global issue when the US themselves have caused it. The ripple effect you speak of is not fuel, that was the start of the US economy being ruined, but of the market itself which indirectly is crumbling other markets because the US has the largest economy in the world with major banks in Europe etc invested in it.

I love when people say Biden has nothing to do with the price you pay at the pump. Then Biden himself says he’s going to release a million barrels a day from reserves and that WILL help prices at the pump. Ironic.

I would consider you a pretty intelligent person. I've read you post over years. But it is shocking and quite scary that you can't look at the country's you used in your graph and figure out that there is a huge and I mean huge red flag on why your wrong and it's not just you it's the entire left and rino rights.

We as a country can produce if so we ever wanted enough oil to supply all those country's and ourselves. Those countrys can not. Maybe Africa can idk about their oil situation. We knew this was going to happen in Sept of 2020. Let me repeat that we knew that production of oil needed to start ramping up by December of 2020 to avoide this. That means bring old oil back online and new oil production. This is a basic known fact. But we had election so things got pushed I guess. Just my opinion. But there was no reason when biden got in office he didn't start digging us out of the hole the entire oil industry told him and trump we would be in. Stamp it.

But you can't push oil production, keep gas low and make people want to go travel with extra income when your trying to keep people locked down. That's the jest from friends and family in the oil industry and from some local politicians as im getting more involved in local politics in illinois.

But he could just as easily have done absolutely nothing, left the pipelines and leases, and all the other stuff exactly as it was, and we would not be where we are now.

But he has stopped the sale of leases, and the ones that are granted, are getting no approvals to actually be able to start work.

Its like be granted permission to hold a race, but then not being given permission to build a track.

But if you voted against Trump, this is what you asked for. Its on you.

As i have said, this is deliberate, and anyone who thinks otherwise is beyond help.

The Cult...and other names and insinuations. Classic.

Notice that I called you out for what what you are doing...directly...again (And, no, I won't go crying to Michael. I'm a grown man. Capische?).

Any comment on President Biden cupping The Prince's Balls for the sake of getting more oil as of late?
Or, is that not something you care about?

Btw, genius, this thread...that YOU started? IS "whataboutism". Grinning

You are too predictable.

Have a nice day.

Next up: We'll list Biden's FAILURES in just his 1st 18 months in office so that you can further DEFLECT and continue to rant about "Orange Man Bad" (Who, btw, isn't in office...lest you forget).

Maybe change the thread to "No Mention of Biden sucking up to The Murderous Prince?" Whistling

This clusterfuck administration should put some of you guys in the Senate, at least something would get done the right way. And did I mention? Let’s go Brandon before I go put $150 of gas in my 1/2 ton truck

Hijack threads is what the cult does when it is evident what a sham administration Trump's was so the subject has to turn into Biden is responsible for all the world's ills and if only Putin's useful idiot was president life world be grand.

Whataboutism and deflection go to tools in the cult's toolbox with you being a perfect example KennyT. Hey why don't you ask me what Biden has done right for the umpteenth time even though I answered it the first time you asked.

I was going to respond to him but you said it all 👍

Nice to have you back Manny

Biden will visit Saudis next month. There is hope Saudis will ramp up oil production by 2.5m barels a day. I`m sure they`ll want USA to lift all the sanctions in return. And that means USA will have to nuke any Iran deal.

Saudi is in ZERO rush to do what the President wants. Yet again, Saudi has us by the teets and Biden/Administration is all too happy to oblige. After all, they can't open up the US production and walk it back. That would be admitting they were completely wrong

Yup, they`ve been ignoring all calls for few month, but now it looks like deal will be made. Saudis will increase oil production by 0.7 billion in July(see it as downpayment) and if meeting goes well, it will go up to 2.5 billion.
Also, Saudis might kick Russia out of OPEC and distribute their quotas between existing members.

Today's ' great peice of news'

We have enough MAGA hat wearers and Tucker fans in the US already so we don't need a Brit sharing right wing propaganda from Breitbart.

And we have Trump to thank for this. Being the clumsy international pollical person he is he wasn't satisfied with giving US farmers' China soybean market to Russia with his loser China trade war, Trump also pulled the US out of the Iran Nuclear Treaty that was backed by the Israeli Atomic Commission and current and ex Mossad and Shin Bet intelligence personnel.

The only people were Israel's Trump Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump and the talking heads at Fox News but I'm sure they'll find a way to blame this on Biden. It's just how they roll. Trump backed out of the deal then criticized Iran when they started enrichment again. Yeah he's the real Art of the Deal guy let me tell you. LOL

You seriously think he doesn't have any bias? Guess you've missed his posts since Biden was elected.

To answer your question, it tells me low information folks are not limited to the US soil.
