Currently have a 2023 300SX on order, set to arrive in the next few months so I want to start collecting some parts for it.

Being so new, I am not positive what carries over from the 22 and older models besides like levers, sprocket, I think I heard wheels?

If anyone has an insight as to what carries over that would be greatly appreciated. Thinking wheels, triple clamps, forks, etc....

Thanks for any help.

Forks, Front wheel, rear wheel (have to change dust seals) I think triple clamps will work but would have to use old style fender and number plate ( at least on FE) and thats about it other than maybe some small stuff like throttle tube

Are they exactly the same? Talked to a guy yesterday that tried to mount his factory/powerparts clamps from his 2022 and he said the new stem is shorter than the old one.

The clamp pinch bolt for the stem is on the opposite side on the new power part clamps. Thatโ€™s what I noticed on mine. I havenโ€™t tried to swap to anything else.

The 2022.5 clamps (top clamp in particular) are a slightly different design than the previous clamps, but fitment is the same. Stem length is the same. They use a new top bearing cap and seal on the new bikes, but fitment there is the same too.

I didn't have a FE to directly check fitment, but MX-Tech has a FE Husky and they sent me the clamps. The new FE clamps bolt right up to the older 2022 bike without issue and Mx-Tech bolted up our clamps to their FE without issue.

The bar mount interface is slightly different - The added a flange to the top rubber cone, but the rest of the clamp interface is identical. You can use the old bar mounts on the new clamps. And if you use the old bar mounts and the new top rubber cone, it's a direct fit and fills up the gap (the old top cone works too). Here's our bar mounts on the new WP clamps (with the older top cone).

So just to confirm, say I buy a used set (or new for that matter) Luxon clamps from a 2022 450SXF, that should work on the new 2023 model? But the bar mounts are a tad different but would still mount up and fit the new forks and all that..

A set of clamps from a 2022 should bolt right up to the 2023 (Luxon and most all others). The 2023 stock bar mounts will not fit the 2022 clamps, but you're likely getting a bar mount upgrade with the clamps anyways, so there's not much point in running the stock bar mounts with aftermarket clamps.

Okay, and then how about the plastics? Do they mount right up to the older clamps?

Yes. The older clamps are a direct bolt on to the 2022.5 FE bike with zero issues - plastics, stem length, bearings, etc. I can only assume they'll be the same for the 2023 bikes, but I doubt they would change from the FE to 2023 production.

The only thing that won't work is running the new stock KTM bar mounts on the older clamps, but I don't see a reason for anyone to want to do that.

One would think that would be the case huh..

Thank you, appreciate the help. Time to start collecting parts for its arrival. Smile

Hey Billy, the 2023 front number plate mounts completely different than the 2022, as it no longer mounts directly to the top triple clamp. Does the bracket on the 2023 for the number plate bolt onto the 2022 clamps ?

Are your handlebar mounts for the 2022 KTMโ€™s stock height?

Yes, same height as stock. Bar risers are available in 4mm and 10mm if you want to go higher, though.

Does anyone know if the 2022 exhaust off ktmโ€™s fit the new model?

I've got a set of xtrig PHDS bar mounts that are about 4 bikes old.  I tried to bolt them up to the new 2023 I've got, and while they bolt up, they don't fit quite right.

The top rubber cones have a rectangular top that sits in the slight recess in the top clamp.  It looks like if you bolt the PHDS clamps down, it won't sit perfectly flush and will gall up the top clamp.

It probably would be fine, but the phds clamps also foul the hour clock so the stock ones went back on and will stay there unless they twist up and then I'll call Uncle Billy from San Diego.

The cone interface is identical between 2016-2023 bikes, except the 2023+ has an extra recess for that rectangular part of the top cone to fit into. Can't speak to what Xtrig did, but you can bolt up an old stock or Luxon bar mount in the new clamp just fine. Maybe their cone angle sits too low in the clamp and causes it to interfere?

Regardless, our current bar mount fits and we've got a fancy new bar mount coming in a month or so too. This same bar mount will fit our new Gen3 clamps, Xtrig clamps, and most all stock clamps with an adapter. No more buying a new bar mount if you switch bikes or clamps, just an adapter. Here's an image of the prototype:

Billy, the cone angles are fine, it's just the recess on the clamp interferes with the bottom of the bar mount.

In hindsight,  I could have probably made a simple shim spacer from 1/16 aluminum to space the mount up a bit... plenty of threads left on the mount.

Nonetheless,  I'll try the stock setup and if I have problems, those new mounts you have there Luxon look super cool!!!

Hey Luxon, what have you learned about the linkage on the 23s?

I remember your last setup had more leverage and needed higher spring rate??? It's hard to find springs for this new shock. Racetech has them, but my they seem to act differently than the white oem ones..... 54nM is the largest rate on the new shock, cannon racecraft make a 5.6, It must be 5.5kgmm, which I think is around 57nM???

No one has the oem airliners yet, so you get to pay $7 more for the same twin air filter in a twin air bag.

No one has the 2stroke filter cage in stock either.

The oem xcf skid plate is good value for $70 compared to aftermarket stuff.

Raptor have 5mm down, 10mm back but I am not sure bigger lads will need them pegs since the bike seems accomodating.

General consensus is that it needs a bit more progression. Similar to the last chassis, but not as much. Haven't done too much really as we need a bike framed to take some measurements of the frame and swingarm for proper analysis. A couple people have volunteered to send their frame over, but it hasn't actually happened yet... It's been on the back burner for us since we don't have a frame and we're busy working on the new clamps. But if anyone is willing to ship their frame/swingarm over or drop by with one, we can knock it out in a day and send it back!

I can if you cover the cost of the powder coating!
