Those don't look like HRC triple clamps to me.. they look like anodized stockers with the casting line in the middle. HRC triple clamps are also very distinctive around the clamp bolts, while these are flat like OEM.

hi, i believe its a HRC clamps for sure, not because i get it from Corne (Vintagehonda.nl) it because i do some research to Gajser 2019 bike. here you can see he run with the casting line in the middle, but also they sometime run the clean casting, i think its depands on the track...
the first 3 pics its mine.

Thanks for sharing those pics. If the clamps are from Corne, they must be HRC. HRC still had their standard billet clamps in 2019, but from your pics, it looks like they developed another option for Gasjer/ their riders. It looks like they took a standard cast clamp and machined them a bit and then anodized them. I had heard that some of the factory riders preferred the feel of the oem cast clamps over the billet clamps and we have seen HRC replacing the billet fork lugs on the work forks with OEM cast clamps in recent years. Interesting. I guess I was wrong and wouldn't have been so easily convinced w/o your pics which certainly prove otherwise. Those are certainly classic HRC parts numbers on your clamps. Is the steering stem on those clamps aluminum or titanium?

Hi, we love all the Factory stuff and their trick into the bike.
Its a Titanium Steering stem.
I sell it for cheap, because im going another project bike so need a money.
Btw, thanks for ur knowledge about HRC.

Will the clamps work on the 3rd gen AF CR ? I’m thinking of using the 49mm production A-kit forks that came on the 18-20 CRF450r. Maybe even some 20 WE forks I have.

For 49mm forks, you need a 56mm upper and 59.3mm lower HRC clamp. For 47mm forks need a 53mm top and 58.5 bottom clamp and for 51mm forks, you need a 58mm upper and 60.7mm bottom. I don't know about this new version of clamp, but the prior versions required special HRC bearings which are hard to find. These bearings have a smaller inside diameter that is the same as a CR85/ CRF150.

Just to clarify. These HRC clamps are for 17-20 CRF450r models, but you can’t run the A-kit 49mm production forks on them ?
You would need to run the actual works Showa units that fit ?

The full factory, A-kit and latest OEM 49mm Showa forks all have the same upper tube size, I believe. Also, as the Honda factory team had riders switching between 51mm and the slightly more flexier 49mm forks some years ago, it became problematic for the teams to carry the HRC clamps for each fork in all the different offsets so they would just stock the bigger size clamps and use a special shim when they used the smaller 49mm or 47mm forks. Some of the HRC clamps even have a special groove to help accommodate/ locate the shim.

I did notice the OP mentioned his top clamp was 54mm and not a 56mm as I would expect for a Showa works 49mm fork.. this is a head scratcher... I am not sure if the latest Showa 49mm upper tubes have recently changed diameter near the cap or not. I am mostly familiar with the late 90's to mid-2000-teens works Showa forks.

Not 100% but I'm fairly sure on the a kit showa nowadays are 54mm upper like the production 49mm. I think k it was some years ago when they where 56mm. I could be wrong.

Those clamps should fit standard size A kit/oem forks since they are stamped “54”. I believe the 17 up A kit forks use the oem size tube. It’s hard to say what sizes HRC has… we didn’t know about these triple clamps until this post lol, I’m sure they have options with some being more common than others. Anyway I’d be confident that stockers/A kit will fit in his clamps. I would kind trying that style myself.

I have 2014 Geico Honda A kit forks with 56mm uppers and HRC triples to fit the 56mm uppers (on my 05 CR).
The bearings and races will be very hard to find most likely. The bearings are the size of CR85/150 bearings so you need a race to fit that smaller bearing but with the O.D of a 250 race.

I have the bearings/races but still had to “mess with” the lower race a bit because the O.D was about 1MM thinner. Kind of a pain… almost wanted to go back to xtrigs but would have to get them machined for my 56mm forks.

I was initially thinking that HRC machined a set of OEM clamps, especially the top one. The top clamp even has the indent in it that they glue the Honda wing logo in as with the production clamps. I wouldn't think they would do that with a dedicated factory race casting. If they are forgings as Worksmx stated, HRC must have used the casting molds from the OEM clamps and then drop forged and machined them.

H4L: you can get a decent quality digital caliper for ~$39 almost anywhere, including ebay. I consider it one of the most important tools in my tool chest.

The 22-192-54 engraved in the clamp means 22mm offset, 192mm fork spread (standard) and 54mm bore (current stock size).

These look to be identical machined copies of stock, even down to the parting lines and draft in the design for the forgings. And they're likely machined from billet, not forged first, as that would be ridiculously expensive for only a handful of clamps made. Main advantages over stock would be increased strength vs the forgings/castings (assuming they used 7075 material), and they anodize a lot better than the forgings/castings would.

Thanks for the expert insights.. I still would think that if they were going to make them out of CNC'd 7075 billet like the standard HRC clamps, they would at least design a cleaner piece rather than work in all the nuances of the oem clamp. Also, why would they use the same billet design if they already had the regular HRC billet clamps to work with and they were probably trying to get the same feel as the oem cast clamp. If they just did a quick scan of the oem clamps and input that program into the CNC machine, it might explain their appearance. I figured they might have used a similar approach to my HRC front hub which is a drop forging with a machined center, if they were trying to get different flex characteristics out of a standard clamp design. Anyway, it seems that Tim Gasjer has gone back to the standard HRC billet clamps on his bike.

I've seen stuff like this before. They just take the production CAD model, put it into the CNC programming software, and just tell it to surface the whole thing. It's super inefficient from a cycle time perspective, but that doesn't matter if they're only making a few as it saves a lot of programming time. If they were to make some changes or make it simpler, they'd have to get an engineer involved, and that's a lot more to deal with than to just hand the CAD model over to the machinist. Realistically, the difference in "feel" between the machined version of stock and the regular HRC billet clamp will be rather minimal unless the HRC one is substantially different (and from what I've seen, it's not very different).
