Monster Energy Strengthens Off-Road Presence in New Partnership with Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship for 2022 Season

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (May 3, 2022) – With the landmark 50th anniversary season less than a month away, MX Sports Pro Racing has announced a new partnership with global beverage powerhouse Monster Energy, which will become the “Official Energy Drink” of the 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. Through its support of the world’s most prestigious off-road motorcycle racing series, Monster Energy will enhance the Nationals experience for fans in attendance and at home, celebrating the storied legacy of the championship and further amplifying its star-studded roster of Pro Motocross racers.

“When you look at the decades of support of both the sport’s most prominent championships and world-class athletes, Monster Energy has become synonymous with motocross,” said Davey Coombs, President, MX Sports Pro Racing. “Through its understanding of the deep, rich history of the discipline, Monster has elevated all forms of two-wheeled off-road racing and is an ideal partner to help celebrate Pro Motocross’ incredible legacy throughout our 50th anniversary. We’re excited for what they have planned for our loyal fanbase this summer in what is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated seasons for professional motocross racing across the globe.”

Hmmm... Red Bull have been reducing its (naming/title) sponsoring in championships over last years. They left Air Race, Frozen Rush and Crashed Ice championships too.
Not sure if this is actually something but it looks their logo is smaller in Marc Marquez motoGP bike. I also noticed there were waaay less xgames athletes using their brand (helmet). Lots of Rockstar and Monster.
Their presence in World Rally has been smaller too. They used to paint all cars from one of the teams, now its like. Just 2 red bull cars in a 3 car team.
Im always curious about these deals.

That was my main question as well. Did Monster offer up more money or did RedBull decide to back out…

Seems like Monster was working their way in since they took over for Redbull at Lorettas a couple years ago and now the Outdoors.

They are probably dumping too much money into their new F1 power unit facility and need to make some cut backs

Doubt it. With the new budget caps and RBRs recent success, that team including the PU side should be pretty much self funded if not profitable.

If they do, when we watch the races we'll get to hear "welcome back to Monster Energy Motocross, brought to you by Monster Energy Motocross 1, the official video game of Monster Energy Motocross, and Monster Energy, now available at... some shop" 🤦

Which shop?
Just like Monster Energy Supercross Champion Eli Tomac and most top athletes, I slam a few dozen Monsters for hydration when I ride, and I need to know where to go to find me some of that sweet emerald body race fuel.

Haha I believe the most offensive is probably Amazon, go there man! The Monster cans / RedBull bottles on the podium still cracks me up

Hmmm Doubt, cuz they are reducing these participations since 2017+or- ... I'd be interestend in knowing if these are all the same "arms" too. Not sure how the company works as a whole. The GmbH (promoter/RedBull) works on profits from their events, for example. Not sure they get some actual cash from the drinks. RedBull F1 has probably money coming from sponsors and from Helmut and Dietrich's stock market cash haha..
Idk, but Im really curious about these operations in motorsport

On the plus side of that, maybe we can get a MEM game from this.

Red Bull is pulling back on all Motorsports/sports that aren’t F1. To indeed, put money into F1. There deal with Honda is only through 2025 then they will be manufacturing there own engines. Which is why everything is being cut back.

Current rumor is that theres some partnership with the VW Group for 2025/26... But I really hope they develop their own engine. Anyway

So, I don’t get the hate for Monster. They have pumped serious money into our sport, and you just want them to piss off? Who fills that void?
