Yup, I don't get the Hype for this race. Two strokes sound like weed eaters to me.

Give some top Amateur racers a chance at riding what the pros do.

right...if they could do what they did at Red Bud, then it'd be cool....otherwise, it's quite lame.

I know nobody here gives a shit, but my brother rode the 2-stroke race today and I'm sure he liked it. It's three laps. If you don't like it, don't watch. It's also good for the local racers who can see some of their friends go out there and mix it up.

As the transition to 18+ only in AMA Pro racing begins, having a 15 minute 125 two-stroke race for 16-18 year-olds (or even slightly older riders just coming out of the amateur ranks) would be perfect.

If they're not going to do something along those lines, then just have a "Legends Lap" at each race.

I love 2 strokes but have to agree, today's "race" was lame. I'd rather see the WMA out there.

The two stroke bikes themselves aren't lame. But not having much of a race going on is what's lame.

Make it a regular AMA schoolboy 2-stroke class race, and you'd have an exciting race to watch. Or, as some suggest, a regular 85 class race.

They still haven't figured out if it's going to be a parade of old champions, a bunch of local pros or amateurs. So they end up getting a weak field. And as Stanton said .... a lot of the top former pros are afraid to do it.

Since smokers are legal straight up in the amateurs it would seem to make more sense to get the top upcoming amateurs and showcase them. Make it 5 laps.

You guys are funny. I have practically witnessed fist fights over the obsessive behavior you people possess for the "mighty two stroke". Now this. The love affair seems to be over.

It's all good.

What are you supposed to call an event with a 50+ year old former Pro .... and an amateur still in his teens in the same gate? And then a bunch of no names filling out the gate.

No one has given up on two-strokes but they REALLY need to figure out a better format.

No worries, I get it. Having owned two strokes for 32 years. Just thought this thread sounded a little bit funny, that's all.
But I still dig my 450 though.

Four strokes are a waste of reciprocating mass. Let the 2 strokes have whatever cc they want. Then we will have lighter and faster and less expensive bikes.

Maybe in 10 years a two stroke race would be cool, they haven't had enough time to be missed yet.

It's like Dane Cook said, with digital cameras we have the ability to be instantly nostalgic.
2 Stokes still exist for tikes and woodsmen. Race em when they are nonexistent. You know like a season when B Hep is not injured. hahahaha

I miss the Ice Man.
