WHY is Cooksey hated so much?

To the guy who thinks Deegan had not signed when Coach Robb and I reported it, it's as ridiculous as the BBMX press release, it was signed! I don't do my podcast or columns as a primary income and have no intentions of making a career change moving forward, this allows me freedom from the strings that tie the other guys hands. My sole purpose is to make this sport I love (more than I should) better. I am guessing most of you share the same passion. Now feel free to roast away!

There are so many that have to keep quiet or keep secrets it’s a joke. But because they want to be with the in crowd they don’t say a word.
It’s a shame because the sport could be worlds better if the truth be told and corrected. Life’s better when walking your own path than following the others. You see things the others never will because they are always looking down and never up.

Okay, I will bite; when I worked at WPS, someone with influence (DC, Matthes, or another person in the media circle) decided my content was detrimental and backchanneled to WPS. If I wanted to keep my job, I couldn't report or share my opinion on anything moto-related on any websites or my personal social media accounts. Even though nobody could point to anything specific that crossed a line. At this point, I decided I wanted to keep my job, as it was a good job. I enjoyed media and wanted to keep doing it, so I dabbled with a couple of political posts, but I didn't have the same passion. After six months or so, I got another job offer, and they agreed whatever I do on my own time is my own business(also they are embracing E-Power, which excited me), so I left WPS.

I was a little salty at what I suspected was Matthes who had stabbed me in the back, by attacking my primary employment. Nowadays I do my best to share my opinions and occasionally break a story. I wouldn't expect everyone to agree with every idea or opinion, but when I break news, it's accurate. My first year doing this I made a mistake regarding the TLD team and it was a harsh lesson, but since then I have a great relationship with the team and thoroughly vet my sources.

Feel free to rip away, as I have another job and won't bother checking in here for a while, it's hard on the self esteem 🤣
