I rode my buddy's new Rockstar on Monday, and it was pretty nice. It's way better looking than the previous versions. The motor was very snappy and it was fast. They did a great job on the new engine and the new ECU mapping seems spot on with how quick revving it was considering how sluggish right off idle the previous 3-4yrs Austrian 450s were. We swapped out the rear shock spring and put his cone valves on and set everything up. Wait until you see how the rear spring is held on to the new shock. We both were rolling our eyes. All in all it's a great bike and I'm sure everyone who gets one or the new FE450 will be pretty pumped.
was this before or after he fell down the embankment?

Can anyone confirm that the old rear wheel will fit with diff spacers? I tried a wheel off of my 21 with the new spacers but hub seems too wide? do I need to remove dust seals also? any info would be appreciated!!! thanks
All you need for the older wheels to work are the dust seals (i believe they are the same as the front wheel seals)
and the new style wheel spacers. i ordered 8 seals and a few sets of spacers, works perfect.

I finally got around to greasing and inspecting the bike after 2 hrs. I was surprised to find metal bead like pieces all over the triple clamp bearings. Has anyone else had this?

Guessing they shot blast the frames before powder coat. Looks like some blast media got stuck in a crevice and then vibrated loose after assembly.

Probably. It was inside the bottom bearing quite a bit. Glad I cleaned it all out.

Feel like all bikes have been dispersed. Some dealerships in SoCal still have husky and ktm FE’s on showrooms.

I’m still waiting on my bike that I ordered back in December. My dealer says they still haven’t gotten theirs or even an eta.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one! I noticed this too when I regreased/did my tear down to check. It was inside the steering stem tube I noticed. I cleaned it all out and regreased.

Picked mine up over the weekend. Really impressed with the fit and finish over the previous model.

Anyone find plastic for them yet?
