So some of you guys think that one of about only 10 guys who can legitimately win races in this series shouldn’t have a factory ride? Interesting… I’ve always hoped MORE guys are able to earn a great living in the sport, not less.

So what would you geniuses like to see happen to guys like Wilson, Bogle, Antsie, Savatgy, Nicoletti, McElrath, Brayton, Plessinger, Craig, and Friese? Should they all lose their rides? Remember when AC won Spring Creek and Red Bud in the 450 class? Those two wins alone are more wins in the premier class than every single rider listed above combined. So even though he’s one of the few who can actually win races and is still one of the newer current 450 talents some of you think he should just be removed as a factory rider and placed on a tier 2 team or retire 😂
AC is a tough one as he has assets that aren’t just race related. The sad fact is that he’s injured way too much though. It’s a hard decision for a team when it comes to him. Add to the fact that he’ll be 26 when this contract ends. Not ancient but he’s older than I thought he was. Any team that pays him knows they are pretty much 50/50 going in whether he finishes a series or not…..at best. what he’s asking for plays a big part too. People always judge the riders a team signs solely on results past and present. The dollar amount of the contract is a factor. This guy at $800k or this guy at $175k?

I would thank that AC has a low base pay with a huge incentive based contract. This would makes a rider with his speed and talent a very good deal for the factories.

Send him to Twisted Tea Suzuki and change his number to 199, so he can continue his Dollar Store Pastrana nice guy act.

Once his racing career is over, whenever that might be—I think we can all agree he is an absolute natural in the booth.

And with the amount of 250's riders moving up next year.. id be looking to pick one of the young kids coming up to take AC's ride.

I’d rather have a guy who gives my team a chance to win and has a very large fan base. AC ain’t going away whether you like it or not. He will be a factory rider because he’s a premier talent and has an amazing personality. He’s one of the most popular and well liked riders in the pits amongst both fellow riders and fans.
Hard to have a chance to win when your not on the gate..
again. when was the last SX season since going pro he has completed?

and when was his last SX win?

If Ferrandis moves on I can see him going to Yammy, I really think going somewhere else should be his number 1 priority not blaming anything at Kawi at all, perhaps a fresh change might keep him off the floor...hopefully.

What exactly has he accomplished since coming to 450s, besides getting hurt?
The amount of dislikes is people not ready to hear the truth, if ac was a football player he’d be JJ watt, absolute beast when healthy the problem is he’s never healthy. With that being said I agree with kawi part- why keep a liability like that around

I do hope he moves from Kawasaki. Nothing against them but he's been with the brand all his life. It's time to part ways.

As for his options, i don't think there are that many. I don't think Honda would sign him because he would want a multi-year deal and they wont do that with Jett coming up and Sexton on a longterm deal (unless they go with 3 riders, but i can't see that happening). He probably wont sign for KTM/Husky because that would take him back to the Bakers Factory. Beta, Triumph and Suzuki aren't ready for him (Triumph could prove me wrong if they want to go all-in on a talent like AC).

That leaves TLD Gas Gas and Yamaha. Or staying with Kawasaki, which would be a bummer. I would love to see him on TLD Gas Gas.

Edit: Actually, scratch TLD Gas Gas. No way that he part ways with Fox. Yamaha or Kawasaki are the options.

True. But Watt has actually accomplished things in football. Ac if you look back hasnt done shit. Justin Bogle led a main for almost 3 laps on an outdated bike. Anderson up until this weekend looked good on the Kawi. I'd let him go and try and grab Craig or J Coop. Homey has been injury prone since his rookie year. But for some reason everyone eats up his cheesy wanna be Pastrana "Aw shucks" act now that he isn't the next mx God. Hopefully they don't put him in the booth, more bland than RC and Blair.

JJ Watt is a multi time defensive player of the year winner. I mean yeah in his old age he couldn’t stay healthy. JJ Watt is a first ballot hall of famer.

AC is more like Odell Beckham Jr. Flashes of brilliance at times. Mostly remembered by one single catch. Can’t stay healthy.

I wish Bogle could ride a updated bike. He could improve his results like Max Anstie.

I think it was a known fact that the Tomacs were not a fan of him or his Dad. The way Eli is riding I doubt they bring in some guy that will mess with the way Tomac is riding. Ac will be satellite bait all day. 26 years old. Youthink Yamaha is gonna upset their golden goose? No way.

I think you should look back. AC has an outdoor 250 title which I don’t consider nothing. There are many guys that were/are career factory riders that have no titles or even wins for that matter. He’s definitely injury prone which I attribute to riding over his head all the time. But I’m not going to say he “deserves” a factory ride or doesn’t. That’s up to the teams decide. I’m just saying a title isn’t nothing.

There is some fast guys coming up from the 250s that I would take over AC all day, when he is on which is becoming less and less and eats shit. At this point I would take any of the Star guys coming up over him. Has he ever even won a 450 sx yet?

Might as well hire Dave Grohl as a truck driver while they are at it.

I’m not sure I would take Justin Cooper over AC. That might be a stretch. A ton of 250 guys never pan out on the 450. Granted AC is injured a lot, he has proven he can win races on the 450. That’s worth something.

Craig over AC? Mmmmm I’m not sure about that either. Martin over AC on the 450? Don’t think so. AC is clearly better then Martin at SX and probably outdoors too on a 450. At most it’s a push there.

AC still has value. Injuries and all. He’s won on the 450. None of the others have.

He won 1 race. That 1 race was also the only time he has been on the podium in the 450 class.

Guys like Bogle Wilson, etc will never win a 450 race. Bogle won one race. But he’s fallen far from that. He will never win again. He’s not even close to winning. He holeshot and fades. Good on him being a great starter but he will never win or podium another 450 race.

Same for Wilson and others. Pro racing is a young mans sport and your competitive window stays open for only so long.

I'm sure he has a contract to fulfill but after the outdoor series he will be done. Maybe AC9 to Honda and Forkner to 450 who knows.

So Tyler, then they can have Brayton to cone out of retirement to be the fill in rider by round 5. lol

His HRC contract is up at the end of the year. Depends on IF he can get the CFS under control or at least manageable to race the outdoors.

He needs to come and do GP's

SX grind is too much for him.

Be great for him, and great for the GP's

He has a long while left before he needs to be in the booth.

13 out of 15 riders in the top 15 have at least 1 250 title. thats not including Savatgy or AC..

them 250 titles help you get into the 450 class with a good team.. Results in the 450 class is what keeps you on the team.

He goes to Star Yamaha, same with Roczen, Webb, Marvin, and Ricky Carmichael. Ryan Dungey returns and gets on Star. AC222 comes to the US to ride for Star. Heard Herlings is coming to Star too…
