Beat me to it! Maybe the craziest ever. For sure it ranks up there with Pontiac 2002 and Atlanta 1990SX where Jeff Ward won on the last lap with unsponsored Nike lightning bolts in an attempt to get sponsorship.

Hope the riders who crashed are all okay.
Give us more on the Nike lightening bolts?

He didn’t want to give up because that’s how much determination he has. I disagree with you whole heartedly that he shouldn’t be praised.

That is a warrior. But he also was probably was a bit dazed.

In any case, never seen anyone do that and I also do commend him for being so tough and wanting it so much.

Never saw something like before, but we did once see Ivan Tedesco finish an outdoor race without his helmet. Woohoo
When was that? I would like to see pics or video.

Idk but someone here will find it. He talked about it on pulp. Something like he hit his head so hard he decided to take his helmet off, and then after sitting by the side of the track for a minute he decided it would be a good idea to salvage some points but forgot to put it back on when he did the last lap. I respect Ivan‘s competitive nature AND his intelligence….but at that particular moment, only his competitive nature.

If I remember correctly, Ivan was borderline having heat stroke. Mind wasn't in the right place and he left his helmet off so he didn't overheat.

Question is why wasn’t Webb black-flagged? Does his 2X champion status grant him rights not afforded to other riders? This is a situation where race officials needed to step in. Webb was a hazard to himself and other riders. Maybe ML or Weege could shed some light on the decision-making.
I agree that he should've pulled out, but he didn't do anything that warranted the black flag.

Thanks for the share, re-watched the whole race.

I know DV comments on here, would love to hear his take on that Pontiac ‘02 track. Definitely consumed a lot of great riders that night.
