do some TV comentary during the AMA Pro Nationals or show up for autograph sessions? Sure he retired from motocross but RC has been retired for several years and he has doneTV comentary on several rounds and even showed up at Red Bud busting out jumps on a RM250. Does JS really hate the outdoors races and outdoors crowds that much? Are his sponsors cool with zero presence for 50 percent of the year?

RC has a full time job. JS is retired. RC shows up and hangs out with the fans. Does TV comentary. Even busts Lorrocos leap on a RM250. Signs autographs until the last fan is gone.
RC is an embasador of our sport. He loves the fans.

Really can't figure out why JS and his sponsors would not capatalize on his success. He should not be embarassed that he retired from motocross at the ripe old age of 21. The fans would still love him. He is a cool kid and very well spoken.

What the hell would having JS at the tracks during the current motocross season do for anyone? Who cares. How much do you need from this guy? Leave him alone on his "off" season. He took the season off ...hmmmm...why??? Oh yeah...So he could make the journey on the weekends as a spectator/guest commentator? Get a clue. Hey..Maybe when he is done racing competitively he'll stop by for a visit every once in awhile. Who cares what Ricky does with his time on the weekends....holy shit when the hell did it become mandatory that a racer....currently racing or retired show up to races to satisfy your insatiable appetite for another person's personal time. Oh and the causative remark about what you erroneously perceive as the direct correlation between signing autographs at any given track in their "off-season" and the corresponding level of respect for the fans in general is complete douchebaggetry.

I like how the word retirement gets thrown around. I took a year off and enjoyed life at 22. Does that mean I was retired? Do you guys really think that JS is never ever going to race an outdoor national again?
I kinda give him kudos on the fact that he anounced his schedule almost a year ago and has pretty much stuck to it. If anything, with his ride day and more to come, he has done more. He even said that he would be doing the xgames. The only thing that he said he might do is a couple of nationals. But seriously, what would people say if he showed up at a national and spanked everyones ass? You guys would rip him a new ass saying he was trying to booste his ego or something. I think he'd have more to loose than gain.

I haven't any facts, but... wasn't there talk from #7 during the SX season, that he planned on doing a couple of GP's and maybe a couple of Nat's (what a coincident those GP-races got cancelled)?

Or was that just something I made up in my mind? *uh*

sooo he's not doing the nat's because of his contract with L and M... why do you think Reed didn't do nationals the last few years? Because they're a supercross only team! Bubba even said himself he'd like to do some nat's but didnt know cause of his team... and do you not think putting on a ride day is doing something for the fans? not that i'm defending bubba but you gotta give him a break

Why does James need to do what RC does? I kinda like the fact that he's doing things his way. Kinda cool to be able to call the shots in your own life at that level and have others care.

I think his sponsors got a great value for what they contracted him for. Dominated the season, won the title and even though he isn't racing MX you're still talking about him. James is doing just fine.

That sounds real good on paper, but, the moto clock keeps ticking away and all the "ride days" and "internet threads" in the world won't mean much in about 6 months from now let alone 5 years.

Forget the "sponsors" for a second... How about later? What would be worth more, being the "goat" or the "king" or the "man" or "?"

Or just having xx.xmillion dollars?
