I think Webb is very sensitive to setup on a 450 because of his stature. I think the old KTM had enough flex in the chassis to work for him. I think for bigger and heavier riders it isn't as much of an issue.

The new KTM has MORE flex designed into the frame.

‘Somewhat of a playing field is a bit understated? They’ve won what like 5 of the last 6 450 sx titles?

I believe at that level all the bikes are good. Wasn’t the 13-16 CRF450 considered by many to be mediocre at best. Yet ET3 was able to gap RD5 by about a minute in the start of the 2015 MX season.
I’m a firm believer that it’s still a good % of the rider that wins at the pro level.
Remember what Eli Tomac did at that one MXoN when he was on a Honda? I think that’s one of the greatest rides of all time.

Those new KTMs are starting to look pretty good out there. Team definitely getting them figured out.

Webb looked as strong in the whoops as any of the leaders. He only went to jumping late in the night.

I completely agree BUT they still don't look great in the whoop sections, especially the longer ones in comparison to Tomac's Yamaha or Anderson's Kawasaki. They look great everywhere else now in my humble opinion :-)
