Hi guys
Just wanted to pop in to say hello, I tried to log in to my old account (TOE) but have no idea what my old email was… it’s been at least a decade and Danya (TOES) had that all under control back then. We’re divorced now… and she’s … let’s just say “indisposed” so it’d be a bit tough finding that info from my end… and especially hers (lol)
Anyway, I just received my new Nikon Z9 yesterday (after 4 months of waiting) and a couple of base mirrorless lenses, I’m hoping to be fully kitted back up by this summer so I can shoot the Redbud National and MXoN and maybe the Ironman national (never been to that track) if I can figure out how to post photos here again I’ll be putting up some moto content 👍
Looking forward to creating again on a limited basis… currently I’m working full time in the UAW building Jeep Gladiators… we moved back to Ohio from Vegas in late 2012 and had some really rough times leading up to the divorce, then my mom and dad got sick (lost dad November 15th last year) after battling cancer, a triple bypass and kidney failure. Mom lost a breast to cancer but she beat it and is living with me now. I had Covid at the same time as mom & dad and nearly died too…. What a rotten run.
Things have leveled off though and we seem to be in an upswing finally. Shortly after returning to Ohio I took up welding/metal art and I still mess around with it in my home shop, I specialized in making trees and steam punk styled projects (think nightmare before Christmas) other than that not much is going on… got 4 dogs and I’m hoping to do pet photography locally in addition to some limited moto photos.

I haven’t sold any of my work, it’s just been a creative outlet to keep me occupied. The Redwood is about 36 inches tall & weighs roughly 35lbs… it took me 100 hours to complete…. Other welders have said I could sell it for a few thousand but it just sits proudly in my home for now
The large tree “Yggdrasil” (tree of the world) weighs 130lbs and is 5 feet across… it took me 470 hours to get it to that point and still needs finishing work.

All of that over a ten year period was a lot… made strobegate look like child’s play. I definitely attribute those trials to a refound passion for photography again… I want to keep that so I plan to shoot only what I want, when I want and where. I’m buying a ticket and shooting behind the fence at Redbud & MXoN… Nobody but me to answer to 👍
We will see how that goes, who welcomes me back and who doesn’t… either way I’ll be enjoying myself.

As for Danya… phew
Her arrest is probably public record so I’ll just give you the facts, she was arrested Jan 1 2020 for trafficking Chinese narcotics, she stayed in jail during her trial and was sentenced to roughly 5+ years… The PA wanted to give her 25+ … (it was a nightmare for me those last few years with her, then when she started down that road I couldn’t follow- I had to call it quits) … We were already divorced a few years and she had remarried when she was arrested. I did step up and wrote the judge a character reference letter to give him an idea of who she was before she took this turn, id like to think it helped to get her sentence reduced. I’ve since heard she got lucky with a very sympathetic judge so who knows 🤷🏼♂️
The worst ten years of my life- no question
I just got on the list at Roberts camera in Indianapolis to purchase the new 400mm 2.8 TC VR S lens… it has a built in teleconverter so you can go to 560 F4 AND you can add a 2nd TC to extend it out over 1000mm 😮

I love everyone I had the chance to shoot with back then, and Steve and other folks were unfailingly kind and generous to me. Still use the 300 I bought from Steve in 05 I think when he was in the midst of his another flip flop from Nikon to Canon or back again.
Can't wait to see your images.
I haven’t thought about that for years, I might have to take the top off the Jeep this summer and try that again in downtown Toledo 👍
