Offseason is winding down and I am getting bored/antsy, so wanted some opinions. I have been debating going to the blue front end on my ME 250F. I like it but it's also kind of weird, probably because I'm just used to how it was and seeing the Star bikes etc. I have a decal coming for the front and sides of the fender too, which should help it not looking so plain (it replicates the stock graphics but colors flipped.) This style of Cycra fender is kind of odd. Has vents on the top and back. I mainly bought it for the look but seems like it has function. Anyone tried one? 1 thing I do not like is that it slightly rubs when you move the bars. So I wonder if I can shim the 2 back mounts with an extra washer?.. So blue or no blue? Also, kind of pumped about the new seat cover but was a pain in the ass to install (especially the little cap piece.)

The monster shrouds look good with the rest of the plastic blue.

Thanks. I actually was going to leave the front flap part the stock, since it was already blue. But once I put the Star seat cover on, the blue was much brighter (almost identical to the color of the plastic) and the stock seat blue looked very faded, in comparison. So I had no choice but to attempt to put the cover on the flap as well. It was tough but it's good enough now lol.

Looks good. I had the vented a few years back. They're fine, probably won't even notice the noise. I just went from the YZ450F to the YZ250F and noticed even in stock form (Monster Plastic) that my front fender rubbed the rad guards on the bottom. I put my extra 450 plastic on to save the black stuff and still did it. Changed the rad guards and still does, but not as much. NEVER had this on my 450. Glad to hear it's not just me. Just shave a little off rad guard with razor blade, it'll be fine.

Looks cool. Graphics remind of a '00. I like the airbox cover too.

It had some black marks so took a red scrub pad with a little polish on it rubbed it a little, didn’t want it totally polished. Took the oxidation and marks off. Then wiped with wd40. Didn’t take more than 5-10 minutes

Cool. I do something similar, every once in a while also. I just try to get the marks off and don't really polish the finish because it gets scuffed almost immediately, for me. Even in my pics, mine looks bad lol. But yours looks really nice!

Anyone have an FMF Powercore 4 on their bike? My buddy has one on his 18 and it made the bike noticeably quieter and less obnoxious sounding. Was wondering if that’s still the case on the current bike. Also can’t find a pic of one installed on the current generation bike.

As in, not the 4.1, I assume you mean? I have not seen anything other than the 4.1 on the newer YZFs, in person. Not sure of the differences between the standard PC4 and the RCT 4.1 aside from maybe materials used. But the can itself looks similar in shape. Looks like the end cap is different and maybe the size of the opening of the core? Not sure. But if it's anything like the 4.1, it's really not any quieter. I think mine is actually louder at idle with the 4.1 and when riding it's maybe less annoying/raspy but still very loud. I am also running the No-Toil screenless intake and higher volume cover.

I just ordered a PC4 for my 21. It's off getting suspension done, but once I get it back and install the slip-on I can record a quick video and take some photos.

Looks good. Doesn’t stick out past the stock one which was what I was mostly curious about. I ordered one the other day and should have it in time to ride this weekend.

Well the exhaust fit great and did cut down on the raspy sound a lot. I wouldn’t say it’s quieter, it just doesn’t sound as awful as it did with the stock exhaust. So I guess mission accomplished.

Finally got around to doing top end and cam chain on my 21. 50 hours on the ecu, I am vet A/B guy in PNW, historicall my stuff has held up really well.

Honestly couldnt tell used the cam chain apart from the new one. They had identical amounts of side to side play. Besides some carbon buildup in the combustion chamber and a little glazing on the front and back of the cylinder, the insides of this thing looked brand new.

If its your first time budget a few extra hours to figure out how to take the bike apart. Lots of electrical connectors and do-dads to undo.

Also the service manual is really hard to understand regarding head bolt torque. I took them all to 22ft lbs, 1 by 1 backed the bolts out, regrease bolt, 11 ft lbs + 60 degrees. Once they are all done up like that I went back and added another 60 degrees to each, REAL TIGHT.

Pretty much how I felt about the 4.1-Ti also. And that looks to be about the same dimensions as mine. It looks really good, man. Good deal.

This bike is a pain to take apart compared to the other ones. I knew that going in though.

At my current riding rate, I’ll need to do a top end at the end of next year. Think I have 16 hours now.

Yeah I was happy it fit and looks like the 4.1. I got it at Rocky Mountain and it worked out to $342 after the race cash they gave back after purchase. It was the only place I could find one in stock. I meant to weigh it before I installed it compared to stock, but I was too excited to fit my shiny new exhaust and forgot. Overall really happy with it and I can throw in the spark arrestor if I want to go riding in the national forest.
