I know everybody is talking about how he ran up front, but MY GOD, that shot to the head! Trying to remember the last time I saw such a direct hit. Maybe NFL Burfect-Brown.
MIPS doing its job?

What happen ? I don't think it's been discussed here.

Definitely tell he was punch drunk. Guessing that would have been the equivalent of taking a shot in the helmet from Tyson.

Maybe a bit more. That was a front wheel hauling 250+ lbs behind it. I’m surprised he walked away. Glad he did, but surprised.

It’s not just that shot. He also got hit again by either the brake lever or foot peg after.

That was definitely scary and could have been very, very ugly.
Glad he appears to be OK.

Huge Steelers fan here. Born and pretty much raised in the Burgh'. Before that hit Antonio was a good humble respectful guy in interviews, on the field etc. Once he took that hit is when he became batshit crazy. Really sad to see. That guy left so much money on the table. Crazy to think he was the best wide receiver in the league from 2016-18 to where he is now. No team in the NFL will ever sign him again.

I don't wanna think about what can happen with your head that close to the hardware. Nasty shot, and his night was going so damn well before that.

I want to make a correction. Leatt has their own proprietary turbine technology in their helmets, they have nothing to do with MIPS.

Yikes, that was brutal! I bet slow motion would have made it look even worse. That's one of those self inflicted mistakes you tend not to make twice.

What a hit. I am a bit shocked though about how much hate Joe is getting from this. From the views I have seen there was not much Joe could have done. Other than grabbing that front break and going flying over the bars.

I did see Mike Alessi post on IG that he was okay.

If Ricky didn't have bones of steel and ligaments of kevlar his career would have been so much different. Thar dude hit the deck hard a lot in his career! Especially early.

Absolutely nothing Jo could have done to avoid this. Friese basically pulled a squirrel or deer in the headlights move. He was just trying to get back on his bike and continue the race. Ran right in front of Shimoda. I'm glad to see he knew he wasn't right and didn't continue to go back to the bike after the dinger. It looked like it crossed his mind though.
