Another look at AC head pipe. Too bad someone couldn’t just start building some head pipes 🤷🏻‍♂️ Could use a PC head pipe and cut it and lengthen it to customize the power. Typically vet guys like a lot of bottom end if you can smooth out the power transition so it’s not “jerky” feeling.

I couldn’t agree more. I have bought (3) 21 KX250 this year. Best decision I have ever made. Including this full PC bike. So fun! ...

Seriously considering putting my 2019 KX450 up for sale and purchasing a 2022 KX450 SR.

Being that the 2022's are now "MSO" only, I'm guessing it'd be worth a trip to an AZ Kawasaki dealer to avoid the ridiculous CA sales tax?

Can any of you recommend a Kawasaki dealership in AZ?

And for those of you who have purchased an SR, what sorta OTD prices are we talkin?!

Thank you!
Finding one will be tough... a reputable dealer in Oregon quoted 10k OVER msrp...... absolutely ridiculous. 13k is a good deal, 23k not so much

I called about a dozen dealers in MN, ND, WI and IA a few days after the announcement. Most said they wouldn't be getting one. A couple thought they were. One already had multiple deposits and I was the first to put a deposit on one at the other. I was told there were only going to be 3 of them delivered to MN. I paid retail + delivery ($600 ... which i think is bullshit btw) and a $200 doc fee (also bs). Plus MN tax (really bs). So, $14,400 otd. Stupid, but wtf.

You probably got one of the best deals in the country. Kawi added a $100 or $200 delivery surcharge to all the mx bikes.

and I'd be more than happy to flip it if folks are spending $10k over retail.

Yeah but you could build a stock bike up really nice for $23k. You could have something fast enough to finish top 10 at nationals I would think.

Saved myself CA sales tax, plus the crazy $5k markup that my local Kawasaki dealer was asking and paid $750 to have this SR shipped from a dealer in Farmington, NM.

Does anyone have the arc powerchip clutch lever? Does it make the clutch engage further away from the handlebar?

I'd ask you what you thought of the suspension, but it looks like you already had it re-valved?

Was the engine a big difference?

I'm built like a linebacker and have alwasy hated breaking in new bikes with really soft stock suspension, so I said hell with it and had it set up for me at Shock Therapy, who also did the previous Showa suspension on my '19 KX450. The suspension on my '19 was a little soft and didn't have good hold up, and would tend to stay down in the stroke, so we focused on making the KYB suspension a little stiffer and to have better hold u me. I also installed the Pro-Circuit linkage which helps to make the shock more plush in the upper part of the stroke. Luckily some good friends were at Pala who really know how to tune some suspension, they made some solid changes and it felt even better after. I'm looking forward to getting some seat time in at Cahuilla, a track I ride a lot and will be able to have a better comparison on. And, it should be known that the motor is insane, barks hard and pulls to the moon! Well done KHI!

I am selling a link equivalent to the ride engineering. It’s a SPIDER and can be adjusted +1/+3mm. With bearings. I am based in Europe. I paid it 230 euros. For sale for 150. If you need one, contact me.

Getting my ‘21 freshened up for some upcoming races - I have about 55 hours on the bike now and I’m really getting it dialed in to be one of my favorite bikes of all time.

I love the marks on your floor for stand placement.... that's something I'd do if I had multiple bikes LOL. Bike looks great BTW!

Haha good catch - spent enough time moving stands a couple inches every direction, needed a solution lol

Anybody dealt with fuel pump issues yet? Seems my fuel filter is clogged up (psi only drops under load, bike cuts out) it’s a serviceable part, but I cant find a replacement, and while I might be able to afford it I haven’t come to terms with spending $400 for a fuel filter

I assume you tried it without the filter to make sure it is a clogged filter and not a tired fuel pump?

How many hours do you usually put on a bike before getting a new one?

My RMZ has the same type of filter, I took my time with compressed air and cleaned it out. Someone had cross referenced the filter and found some on eBay, any numbers on the filter?
