I can’t remember which one I got, but any of the aftermarket ones (with a bearing) will be an improvement over the stock one. Just make sure it lines up with the chain properly. The one I got required a spacer.
Thanks for the reply,

...but isn't there a previous year OEM (2016??) one that most people were using to replace the current? Pretty sure I read that within this monstrosity of a thread at some point.

It worked well and did not require shimming .

Would it be worth me trying a 5.2 shock spring if im 155 without gear? Im a fast b rider but i feel the shock is putting to much weight on the front end making the forks dive. Im running 104 with about 45 static at the moment.

I wish I had your problem! At 6’4”, 215 lbs without gear, I had to bump up to at 6.0!

For sure! I sold my 21 KX450 but I still think it's a great bike. It just didn't work as I would like for what I do.

Hello guys, 2 days ago i received my ignition and clutch cover from my kx450 21 model after sending them for powder coating. I followed exactly the manuals instructions on how to hold the clutch lever in with a band in order to keep the piston from coming out. Despite that when i removed the slave cylinder i saw oil coming from one hole.

If i am not mistaken oil is supposed to come out only if you remove the push rod which i didn't. Despite that i drain the engine oil removed the push rod cleaned it put molybdenum grease as the manual says and continued bleeding the system. I started the engine and realised that the clutch system is not disengaging. I push the clutch select gear and immediately the engine stops, is the same thing if I didn't push the clutch lever at all. I removed the the clutch cover again and saw when i push the lever in the clutch pack is moving, i don't know what should i do next. Any help would be appreciated!!

Hello guys again does anyone has the manual of 21 450? I would like to disassemble the clutch basket pressure plate and i would like the torque specs for them and service limit of the disks. Due to unavailability of the 21 450 manual when i bought the bike, i purchase the 19-20 450 service manual and that's the only thing it's different and don't have it.

That’s the baddest ass KX this year. So refreshing to not have soda can logos. Well done. You win the internet on best looking KX.

So radical!! Had a '93 KX125 and loved that bike. Did you consider having the fork tubes anodized blue?!

I’ve got a spider one, which is like the ride eng. great traction but I am not totally happy. The bike sits too low and needs substantial revision of settings. The shock will seem too soft and the forks too stiff. I will reassess it after I will visit a tuner

Has anyone tried a 49 tooth rear sprocket on this bike? Wanted to try to make 2nd gear longer and faster. I’m having a hell of a time with the chain length. Put a new Chain on and cut too long then cut it too short. Not sure what going on as I only removed one more link than when it was too long.

I have a 49. I find the bike too nervous with a 50. I prefer the long pull in third gear. You only loose a bit of the initial snap, which I don't think it's a bad thing on a 450.

I also run a 49. On fast downhills I kept wanting to grab another gear in 5th with the 50. I ran a 49 for a while on the stock chain and didn't have any problems with chain length. When you say to short or to long is it not within the adjusters anymore or are you trying to get in right in the middle of the adjustment?

I’m running the PC axle blocks not sure if that’s part of the problem? I will revisit again today and see if I can get the chain length thing corrected.

Not sure, I have the Works Connection axle blocks. If you still have the stock blocks I would compare with the PC to see if there is a difference.

Hey, I am new to the 450 (450 21) club. Rode 250f s for the last 3 years.

Is anybody out there with clutch damper problems?

Since the first oil change i have rubber pieces in the old oil.

Bike has only 12hrs. since bought brand new. I m not hard on the clutch or engine and oil change is regulary 3-5hrs for the first 10hrs.

Maybe somebody here has some information?
