Any idea where "Little Jerry" is now? I heard he had moved to New York but that was many years ago.

Mr. Potts..Jerry Shore Jr. what a great kid...friendly, Funny and Fast...I Think "JR" Little Jerry is still a driver for the studios, Last time I saw his name rolling on the credits was in 2007 The movie was" Into The Wild"..If you need to get in touch with him you might call Teddys the Hollywood answering service.. I think he lives in Acton Ca.
Jerry Jr, was a real close to getting a 125 factory ride...If I remember correctly a broken leg set him back..He and his Dad both went to work for the studios as drivers..
Thanks for the welcome... Dad Dunes "Gary"

Thanks Gary! I used to talk with Jerry at the track and sometimes he would come into the shop I was working at (Pesky's Suzuki) and he was always friendly. I quit racing in 1977 and didn't realize he had made it to the pro ranks. I think he was a fast junior when I knew him. He was always funny and was one of those people that made Motocross such a great experience.

I had no idea "Big Jerry" went to work at the studios. I though he promoted races until he was killed in the tractor accident.

Bobby M.. Congrats...On winning Hopetown I took The race for the Dirtdiggers at the last minute when they lost The track at Corragan ville "Hope Ranch" in Simi Valley..I think We at the Dunes really pissed off Jack "CRC" Because it was CRC's week end to race.. But I think we made it up to him with the annual Dunes Town GP which CRC is still running every year at LA County Race Track...
Dirtdiggers Hopetown was not a race It was a Happening In the day it was the biggest happening of the year.."WHAT FUN!!!!"

I never raced indian dunes, practiced there alot on a KX60, I always try to remember it when I pass by it on the 126, my last memory was trying to follow my dad through some sand somewhere and couldn't get my KX60 through it.

Indian Dunes was so fun...I grew up racing there and at Saddleback. The best part was between races you could hit one of the other tracks and blast around with your buddies...I remember we did like 1000 laps on the TT course and I missed my 2nd moto. My dad was pissed! haha...good times.

here's a pic from the international track on my kx80

finishlineflager.. I can't remember where LACR starting gate came from. AME was the first to race at LACR, I remember helping Jerry Shore set it up..."In a 105 degree heat"
but I'm not sure where it came from..Also I have No Idea if it's the same starting gate that is there now.. Don't think anyone would of wanted Internationals gate it was real bent and beat up.....CRC may have grabbed it after we closed I'm not sure...

Krazee1... Great Picture ...Boy you too.. And I thought my kid was the only one that did stuff like that...I can't count the times he would just make it to the line for the second Moto
And then I had to worry about how much gas he had left..
Real good times...

Thanks for the post--I Spent a lot of times at the Dunes during that period, I am sure I would recognize you if I saw you...CRC # 5 in '80 or '81...more than a few AME trophies still down in the shop....
Didn't they make us go through some sort of barn/movie set during the Dunestown races? I can remember some pretty difficult "sections" (on the other side of the "crick") in the CRC GP races/Dunestown--compared to a current GP at Glen Helen or LACR, it was a different game.... I clearly remember the "water jump" (VERY COOL pic on this thread) over the "crick"--you had to be on the gas to get over it cleanly!! I'll admit it--if the race didn't go my way, I took the "alternate routes" a few times....I guess that's why Randy Morales always smoked me in the GP's there....HAHa
The 7 J's brings back memories...Lance was once the first person "on the scene" of one of my worst wrecks at the Dunes--I was really scared...I'll never forget him for that.....I remember their huge trailer and them being good people....

I remember Brand, Lance and Kayle. Always fast! Doc Johnson was very generous and a great ambassador for So Cal MX.
