So, I've wanted a Porsche since I was old enough to know what one was. I've never had the wherewithal, but someday I hope to get a cheaper one. I'll probably go for a Cayman or Cayman S, based on the amount of performance I can get for the $, and I like the idea of a mid-engine layout anyway.

The GT4RS is, of course, far more than I'll ever pay for a car unless I hit the lottery. However, if price was no object, this might be the one.

There is also a really sexy new Lotus coming out. I'd probably not be as happy with a Lotus, just from a brand experience, but this may be the best-looking car I've ever seen:

As far as bang for your buck and all around performance I think Porsche is pretty hard to beat.

My uncle had a 1967 911S. Owned it most of his whole life. Was heavily involved in the Porsche club in WI, then later MI.

His car was featured on My Classic Cars. Won several best on shows...ect..

My former aunt and him got divorced in 2018 and she got the car. She sold it shortly after for $256k.

My step dad had a few Porsches. I think the nicest one he had was an early 90s 964 RS America, along with a few 911 Targas and Carreras.

My favorite Porsche since I was a kid, the 1987 911 Turbo with the slant nose.

Yeah, that 935 Slope Nose was a helluva car. Funny you mentioned the RS America; my dad had a '94 in that same guards red as your 935 pic.

Lots of Porsche fans here haha
I love the 996/997 turbo
IMO they are a great balance of enough electronics/stability control to keep you out of the weeds, but not too many to feel like an appliance.
Nice wide body, but still a small car
I have been lucky enough to drive one a few times and it made me smile from ear to ear.

I also got to drive a 991 on a German autobahn, and that was a cool experience.

Any 911 gets me going
And I also love the new Cayman Falcon

styling wise, I love anything from Aston Martin or a Mercedes SLS

15 years ago you could get them for a decent price. no chance any more

For sure- I remember 15 or so years ago him telling me it might be worth $30k or so, needless to say we were shocked to hear it sold for 256k!

Even 5 years ago you could get a very nice, low mileage 911 for a relatively reasonable price. Now dealers have almost zero new 911 inventory and the good preowned examples are going for outrageous prices.

If I were going to spend just less than $100K on a ‘new’ sports car, it’d be the Backdraft Racing Cobra with the tall man option. Supposed to be able to fit up to 6’7 in relative comfort, and with a modern engine and transmission.

Without a doubt my current favorite sports car is the new Corvette. I think they did an amazing job with it.

I’ve never been a huge Porsche fan. But I am buying my Mom and Dads mint condition 2006 Porsche Cayman. Since my Mom passed away my Dad doesn’t want to drive it anymore. I offered to buy it to keep in the family. And me and my wife can use it as our date night car.

I also love slant noses! 911's rule, been one of my fav cars sine I was a kid too. My 5th grade teacher had one way back and would take us for rides in it, he also raced moto and I still am in touch with him once in awhile, way cool dude.

I keep seeing this at my chevy dealer and I'm pretty sure I bought our vet a vet over the years who also has a silver one. Really nice looking car imo.

I’m a huge fan of the Mclaren 720s….sure it’s not a P1…but the P1 is triple the price, and marginally better performance.

If we are talking a million plus…I’d pass on the P1 and take the Ferrari LaFerrari or Porsche 918 Spyder….

Growing up my dad had a '63 super 90 he loved. Then he traded it in for a '67 912 when they came out and was immediately bummed. The super 90 was the old 356 body style, I remember him saying that "The doors on the old one were thick and solid, the doors on the new one are thin and feel cheap, when you close the door they go "Clang" and the whole car feels tinny and cheap in comparison to the old one" Years later when he found out the super 90's were on the rare side and becoming collectors that decision stung even more. Then my parents got divorced, he had to sell the 912 and bought a Karman Ghia, the "Poor mans Porsche" talk about trading down.

We bought a Genesis coupe when our kids moved out. Got the 6 cylinder 6 speed manual touring model. It was fun when it was new but was in the shop more than all the other cars I've owned combined. We got rid of it when it went out of warry. Was a good car for getting tickets

I saw it on netflix, but that was a few years ago, and its not on netflix here in Aus any more.

I have had a few of Nissian 300ZXs turbos over the years and the newer 370 as I thought they were great little cars. Next fun car will be a Dodge challenger not sure if I will get a SRT8 or Hellcat depends on when the right deal comes along.

My dad was a teacher and was able to afford a Porsche. Stay at one job long enough, and your tenure will help. Here in CA, at least, they keep giving you raises forever. He did pretty well.

My neighbor (who works at same company funny enough) is just finishing a complete street & track build on an 87 Porsche 911. All new paint, race suspension, built motor, fully caged, etc. Definitely fits the bill of "street legal...mostly". One of my best buds just bought a 911 as well (last air cooled model).

For me, if I was FU rich, I'd have a Lamborghini. Sorry, I'm Italian and never was into Ferrari. Grinning

LEXUS LFA, i remember watching top gear (real One) and ever since Clarkson drove one and said it was his favorite out of every car he drove at that time i wanted to get behind the wheel of one!
