Over shadowing it by saying it's not "economical" to go ..... it's never been economical to go do the MXoN but they did it every year cept 01. If RV and MA were still healthy this thread wouldn't exist.

If Canada can send a team in this goofed up MX world we live in up here, there is no good reason to even consider Team USA not going...

Yep.
Even the Mongolians were able to send a team last year.

promoters pay BIG money just for the top americans to show up to their races in europe.....i'm sure somebody over there would be willing to pay.....if pushed! as been stated already, it isnt really a race unless the america team shows up!

If James goes he could win the entire thing on his own....there are plenty of racers here that could help take home the gold easily....

Stewart....(just get over it he is our best choice at this point)
Dungey
IT
Short
Grant
Barcia
Weimer

To name a few

It's funny how the US riders are getting smoked in their own series and people still believe they have a chance at the MXDN??

Own series? Look those guys came over here to chase a dream at SX/MX stardom from the GP's we are but no meas getting smoked. When you compare the 250 class there are gp vets and world champs in the mix with American rookies to the pro scene racing against them and winning, not all the time but enough not to be "smoked". There is a reason the riders in Europe left to come over here (but that's already been an$wered) In the 450 class Reed shouldn't be considered a GP transplant due to the fact he's been here since what ....01? The only time he is a GP rider is at the MXoN other than that he has been here long enough to get a green card and be a citizen. Nobody else is "smoking us in the outdoors" and even then he isn't dominating...... If and only if James were here ....not a single GP transfer (and you know it) would even be close to his back fender.... I like the GP competition, it keeps the US riders on their toes so they can't get lazy and rest on their name...... the US MX scene is the MOST competitive series in the world right now and the GP transplants (past and present) prove that

No.
You're forgetting that it's the top 3 riders from each country, not just 1 rider from a country.

I certainly hope we go.

Why would a USA win at the MXDN overseas be less significant to a mfg than a win here. Moto fans are still aware of it, and there's no reason it can't be incorporated into an ad here. IE- "Suzuki dominates the AMA Nationals and the World with their RMZ250" (Assuming Dungey wins the 250F title and MX2 class).

It's not like we're in 1984 and there's no internet. Moto fans worldwide know what's going on as it's going on.

Exactly

I think we'll find an excuse to not go this year. We need to send a team and face up to all the shit we talked earlier in the year.

The USA is an arrogant winner and a terrible loser.

I think the difference between the last 4 or 5 years is that the USA has been able to field a team that will be able to podium if they got a terrible start. This year i don't think you could field that sort of a team but i do feel you could field a team that has one of if not the best chance of winning

And why are you's crapping on about they won't go it's not worth the market share yadayadayada get the figures on TV viewing for the World championships and who said or gave you's any hint of a non show???

If i was in charge of picking the team ,this is who I would send.
(Guys that are currently racing the Nats.).
Ivan for MX3. (He only needs one good moto over there)
Barcia for MX2(It would be fun to watch him against the GP guys and he just may win the whole dam thing.)
Put Dungey on 450 for MX1 (He is hungry and I think he would do well over there.)

Why is it that USA aways whines about money, I dont hear that from any other team. Shit, Estonia, Sweden and all the other small market countries, with no big National series manage to go. They go knowing they wont win either. I call bullshit on the money excuse, where there is a will, there is a way.

As a Fan I travel , buy tickets buy product , why hit me up again ? that's an even worse deal for me.

Why would I want to send Team USA to race and let the promoter rake in all the money ?
Its about America going over there and showing the world we are the best.If we all pitched in a little itshouldnt be a problem.Quit crying

Good post.

Motocross over here is more business then sport now a days, and in a way.. it is a shame.
Races like the MXDN are all sport for the most part, it is for bragging rights & fun.
The only year I could justify us not sending a Team was after Sep11th....other then that we should be over there every year , regardless of who is hurt and who is not.
The not having the money bullshit, is just that...bullshit.
Most of the people over here at the top of the sport for the most part are multimillionaires.
Someone has money, and like you said "where there is a will, there is a way".

Those teams send 3 riders, 3 mechanics and 1 team manager.

This thread sux elk balls. I love it when people all of a sudden apply logics when it suit their arguments, agenda or whatever. Face it, motocross is a stupid sport, a majority? of people involved do it or at least started it because they LOVE the sport.

Those who survive on this shit are depending on sponsors, and you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that the mxDn helps out in a special way. That race expose Zook, Rockstar, Monster etc in greater fashion that the usual GP, AMA shit we see every week. I’m sure any person with some economics degree could explain the positive effects if that’s really necessary.

I get the impression that the same group of people bitching about the superiority of their “own” series are the ones against this temporary merge. Me as a real fan want to see the best against the best and I buy American goods like graphics, clothes and boots more than I buy European things.

Why some even argue in a negative manner? Those can sod off and piss on themselves, because that’s the only warmth they are going to get.

The MXDN is still a ways away. There is reason to beleive both Mike and Ryan could be fit enough to go by then. Even if they can't we need to be represented. I don't know for sure but I think the guys we have healthy and racing right now could win it. Ivan is healthy and has expierience, Short is mister consistent always right there with very few exceptions and Ryan Dungey could still go top 5 even with a dead last start. Let's not forget the way they race in all other countries but here. They take off kinda slow and build up to it. We take off like a rocket out of the gate and never look back. Every "euro" that comes over here points out that they are surprised by it because they don't race that way. Either way we need to go. If for no other reason than it's the :"right" thing to do. Money should not be a stumbling block.

They changed the name of the event. They are changing to 100% man made tracks on flat ground just to offer imenities like a catered buffet.

The event is a total joke. Damn shame because it used to be the best race of the year.

I wouldnt mind if USA does not bother showing up. The promoters should foot the bill for Team USA because without us they don't have shit for a draw.
Flat ground? Have you ever been to Budds Creek?
