Anyone else wish that Redbud would allow camping on Saturday after the races? Last race of the day wasn't done till almost 7. Then you have to rush to get washed and loaded up to go find a parking lot to camp out in. Definitely not how I like to finish the weekend out.

Agreed! The day is long. It would be great to wrap up the races, wash your stuff and then enjoy one more night of camping to make for an easier drive home the following day. My drive was only 3 1/2 hours but I still would have camped if it was allowed.

Agreed. The race is getting bigger so the race day is longer. It’s a huge pain to be last moto of the day and rushed off the property just to find a walmart parking lot to sleep. Nobody wants to make a 5 hour drive at 8pm after a full day of riding, especially when you have all day Sunday to get home.

There was ALOT of talk from riders about this issue Saturday on the gates. Hopefully Red Bud will do the right thing for the future.

I remember asking Tim about it when we were there (last year?) - and I forget what he told me, but yeah that’s absolutely nutty, most of us would rather be charged another night (with room service) and drive home next day, relaxed….

Ive heard because they didnt want to hire security for an extra night…it baffles me they dont do a open ride on sunday. They would probably make good money with the amount of people that they get for that race.

First couple of items, I was at Redbud Vet Fest, holy shit that was awesome. Track prep was unreal, the place is run super professional, the wash bay area is fantastic, just overall they spoiled us and I want to give a huge thanks to everyone involved.

With all that said, I also agree, would love to be able to camp Saturday night as well. Would gladly pay more for this option.

I agree sat camping is needed and would be fun. Some travel a great distance to be there. Open riding Sunday would be great. How many in the 125 class ?

Yes, being the very last moto sucked, but only because of this. It was after 830 by the time I yanked camp n got on the road. Drove an hour and got a hotel. Not to mention I was dead tired after 15, 18, 21 Motos and immediately after had to tear down camp.

For how much money the event is bringing in, there's no good excuse to not let us camp. Pay the damn insurance and security and at a minimum let us camp.

Sounds like the race is getting bigger every year without camping so why go through the added expense/headaches. It will probably only change when attendance at the race declines and they look to get the attendance/profits back up.

I believe this year had less than last year.

Why go through the added hassle? Because we're paying for it and willing to pay more to camp another night.

Note: A few of the above postings were made by riders I know quite well, and, I’d like to state, for the record, if Tim Ritchie has a D, E or, even F Lot, that’s where they belong. Burp. ( No offense, fellas ! None taken !!!)

I counted 791 entries for Saturday’s race. I’d call that a successful event! I know I sure had fun.

I agree...that was obviously an imposter

I did run across his actual reply

"I am hauling a load of radioactive layer hens across from Utah to chicago. They are nuking them so the eggs come out cooked just like you would in the microwave. Wish they had them back when I was training and pushed for time. Those raw eggs were nasty. Drove across Kansas last night and got flashed for the first time in a cornfield state. I think I got a thing for those Kansas chick's now. Reminds of the time I went out with that girl with the Parton name. Not dolly, but could have been. Fueled up and ready to blow threw st lious. Might stop at the arch and do a selfie. Saw some hippity hoppity bike riders last time thru and saw a 125 rider. Flagged him down and did a couple laps on the back wheel in the old mall parking lot. Told him to switch to the old golden spectro and showed him how to do a top end rebuild with a pair of pliers and the striker on the back of a book of matches. That got me to thinking about that time I was at a race and didn't know we couldn't camp. I put a note on the window that the truck was broke down and took my sleeping bag and climbed on top of the scoring tower. In the morning I noticed that a speaker wire ran right across where my truck was parked, folded my sleeping bag and zip lined down. Bag zipper got snagged and I hit the row of Porta potties just past my truck. Could have joined the blue man group. I just put my helmet and boots on for practice and had people asking where I got the cool looking gear. Hey red bud allow overnight camping or the pOrta potties get kmocked down"

And apologies in advance to profeshenal125 if this comes off wrong. I dig your posts because one never knows where they will go, but you sure make it sound like a fun ride.

After becoming accustomed to that style your short reply with no anecdotes seems like the most unusual post you have ever done.

Yeah, I was just pointing out that technically it didn't grow this year is all. I had a blast!

Haha that’s great creative writing. I was so hot trying to get loaded in Larado. They had us drivers waiting in a homemade chicken cage in the warehouse not kidding. I don’t know Spanish so I spoke Italian . I think it translated to how much longer you stupid chicken farmer.
