Fresher track for 250s but still you'd expect a bigger disparity if the 450s are a better bike considering those top 450 guys are generally better riders.

Even a bigger guy like herlings did better work on the 250.

same thing happened with the open class. the 250's got to be faster around the track than the 500's. bye bye 450's.

It's not like this is a new thing. O'mara on a 125 and Poto on a 250 beat the field decades ago. Outlawing 450's is not the answer. Open Premier Class is.

It's funny all the amateurs are sooo safe on a 250.

What we "miss" is an additional and combined race between the top guys of the day, a superfinal with the top 15 or top 20 from each class. That could be exciting, and why the mxdn is particularly fun to watch.

Big changes after practice and after 1st 450 moto…the first 250 moto was pretty much completely groomed and then they did it again after the first 450 moto which allowed the 250’s to go faster…comparing fastest laps means zero…try comparing the average lap times and you will see a different story…if the 250’s are so much faster why did the 450’s do 19 laps in the first moto and the 250’s 18….but hey keep trying with these dumb threads…

We know Dylan didn't cut any super fast lap times, even with the Quad, 10th overall. Pretty obvious it's racecraft and conditioning, as evidenced by his 1st moto finish. Pretty close overall average times, the 250 guy's might have been a podium threat? It's impossible to compare exactly without racing each other. Track, lappers, the need to go faster is all different.

But the 450’s were faster…one lap means absolutely zero in a race…you were trying to make the point that the 250’s should be the premier class because their first lap was faster on a much smother prepped track…it was a stupid point to try and make…not threatened at all…just not a fan of dumb threads

I am making the point that there is parity between the 2 classes, and we should have 1 premier open class with the fast 40 in it. I don't care what you choose to ride or how old you are, settle it on the track.

I had a great conversation this week with one of the most successful, multi time championship winning mechanics/engineers to ever be involved in MX/SX. His opinion is the 450'a are overkill and he said as much to the manufacturer early on. They said they were too far down the road with the 450'a and there was no going back.

Does beg the question though... if 250'a run within tenths of 450'a, we need 450'a because...?

Maybe we need more ruts?
