Watching the CORR races on TV over the weekend. Johnson and McGrath were going at it BTW. Taking a sofa seat poll, it looks like between Red Bull, Monster and Rockstar the majority of sponsorship dollars come from these guys. Add a few casinos here and there. Forbid that these guys close the books on MX and Off Road where would the money come from?

It's not a matter of if, but rather when.... The energy drink companies won't be around forever and I would guess that time is getting short. Hopefully DC and the other powers that be are pitching the sport to some companies that don't make a dangerous/deceitful product.

1st of all there is not plenty of money out there,

2ND I think the Energy drinks are here to stay awhile in SX/MX it just seems to be a good target audience

3rd I don't need the government to tell me the drinks are bad for me, they need to spend money on getting us out of debt not wasting it on a study that common sense already knows.

Supercross had a decent year last year, I'm wondering if it will hold out another year because things are not turning around very fast infact I think the Factories are going to cut back big time for next year.

Wow well put! I have been thinking the same thing for a while now. The energy drinks rule the sport both SX/MX and FMX if they were to pull support we'd like be back in the dark ages and possibly not even have a series to run. They thow in a TON of bucks to this sport and even though some seem to criticize and post bad things about the physical effects about the drinks, the reality is that w/o them we probably wouldn't have a series to watch and yes I knw they are bad for you bad for you but are they really that bad when compared to the camel/coors light era of the late 80's early 90's?....no.

The energy drinks contribut so much to the sport and the athelets .....

I hope DC and crew are at least planning for the "what if" exit strategy of the energy drink companies in case they are deemed "unhealthy" by the govt, get regulated, or the fad wears off because if not our sport that is so dependent on their sponsorship dollars would be screwed if there was some kind of immediate departure on their behalf.

Go back to Camel Cigarettes and Coors sponsorship!!!
How about just plain water? Evian would be able to support a race team based upon what they get per gallon of water, and Evian spelled backwards is NAIVEWink
