On to the next outrage du jour people.

Correct, sir. All boys for me.

I had this view prior to my children though. I believe sports and games should be "co-ed" at all levels.
Okay, everyone is entitled to their opinion and that's fine. But we won't really know if you'd feel any different if you had girls because you didn't, ...but I'd bet a case of beer if you had 3 daughters, and they competed in girls / women's sports and were doing quite well, maybe even looking at a scholarship or professional career in said sport, and then 2021 comes along and your girls get their asses handed to them by a transgender male and are no longer competitive, lose whatever scholarship or career they might have had and get discouraged and quit. You'd feel different.
I have a friend whose daughter races mx, she signed up in the women's class in a semi big (local) race, and got 2nd to a girl that was born a guy. You're saying that's cool ? and they shouldn't even have women's classes ? I get it and that's fine if that's what you think. But you'll never have the same perspective as the father of a daughter will. Case of beer says if you had 3 girls you'd feel different Tongue But like I said we'll never know. Maybe in the future you'll have a grand daughter and we can revisit this subject. Cool

We can just identify as girl dads if we want to these days.

Heck, I might even be a boy dad one day when my daughter chooses her gender.

In all seriousness tho, it doesn’t take being a father of girls to understand basic biology. As mutt said, this is simple stuff.

I cant see the problem with amateur women’s sports. And so far, no cogerent argument has been made against them.

I never said anything about participation trophies, and you suggested your daughter's "larger purpose in life" is to attract men.

I'm about done with this back and forth though. Nothing more to say on my end.
Again, more intellectual dishonesty. I never said my daughter's larger purpose in life was to attract men. I said she had a larger purpose in life...
Again, more intellectual dishonesty. I never said my daughter's larger purpose in life was to attract men.

I said she had a larger purpose in life. That's exactly what I said.

You then twisted that into claiming I said a woman's sole purpose is to please men.

You havent had much to say other than to make points off of twisting my words to suit your narrative. Dont worry, the conversation will carry on fine without you.

We all have larger purposes in life. Taking fatherhood seriously teaches us that.

As men and women we have very different natural roles. Women are supposed to take care of the kids, men are supposed to bring home the food and provide protection.

Very elementary stuff. The further we get away from our “natural roles”, the more we see the breakdown of society as a whole.

We are herd animals, some more than others. People seem to forget that we’re “THE” Apex Predator.
First thing, i want to be very clear I dont believe trans gender people should be competing in the olympics with the opposite sex to that of their birth. I am all for their rights to do whatever the f**k they want, but its not fair to their competitors.

Now OG, i see your point. and historically you are right, but as humanity has developed, do you really think woman should really just raise kids and put food on the table?

As the father of a young girl, my daughter can do whatever the f**k she wants. If that is be a stay at home mum, great. If she wants to be surgeon, great.

Do you have a daughter? if so would you really tell her. "darling, your job is to stay at home and have kids, its not your natural role to have a job and make a good salary"
Do you work with woman? in my professional experience, they do their job just like men, some are great, some are f**king hopeless. just like the guys I work with.

I’ve got three daughters and a son. Two granddaughters and three grandsons.

If you look at the degradation of Western society, it happens around the time we took mom out of the home. Our children are being stored like meat in facilities with people that really don’t care about them other than indoctrinating them.

Mom and dad are so busy making money, chasing that dollar, being good consumers, that we have lost the core family unit.

I recently read a study and it compared a 1950s family three-bedroom house two cars in the driveway only dad worked with a modern family same scenario but both mom and dad worked. Which family do you think had more expendable income at the end of the day?

PS, I don’t think women belong in the military either, or homosexuals, or transsexuals.

And do you think woman were happier in the 50s or today? I’m not sure, but if I had to guess I would say the “average” woman is more fulfilled and happier today.

So do you think your daughters and granddaughters should just be homemakers, and ignore other dreams if they want to go down the professional route?

I personally think it has evolved. Sure it still has huge problems, but people live longer now, our understanding of the world is better, it’s safer than any time in history, for a relatively low price you can travel to the other side of the world and experience all sorts of other cultures. I could go on, but I understand it’s a subjective opinion.
Unless we are talking about science and knowledge, in which case we have unequivocally evolved.

The world was not a utopia 50 years ago.

I know many woman who are great mothers who also have professional careers.
My wife is one of them, and so was my mother.
Do you really think a family can’t give children a good childhood and also work at the same time?

Raising kids is one of, if not the, most important job their is.

The fact that it’s been devalued by feminists is the problem.

Nobody Should think less of a woman because she’s doing her natural role. I know I dont think less of my wife. I appreciate the hell out of her and her responsibility.

I find it weird that society thinks Im the chauvinist when it’s feminism that actually thinks less of women.

Motherhood is hard as fuck if done right.

Ok if I'm a born-as woman I'm done with the Olympics. Why would you train for YEARS knowing some Jerry now Julie is going to beat you out to represent your country?
Find it fascinating in today's woke "fairness" world that the true feminists don't go apeshit over this.

I don't care what you do with your life but the field of play should never be allowed to be compromised.
It's actually the adrenal glands that cause a male to function better athletically than a woman. Testosterone vs estrogen not as much. A male adrenaline delivery is much higher and quicker than a womans. Remove those in addition to gonads and you might have a level playing field. (Gonads is an actual scientific term)

I dont.

Motherhood is that hard.

I think the term “great parent” way overused. The bar for that term is so low it’s embarrassing.

Being good at something (career or motherhood) is damn difficult. Anyine that says it isnt, probably isnt good at it. And if you think you’re great at career AND parenthood, then you’re basically saying you’re super human.

A woman can be great a 2 of 3.

Mother
Wife
Career

Past 2, something has to give.

Highly successful women know this. Which is why most of them give up their careers to be mothers.

I know plenty of career having moms that think they’re great at everything. They outsource their kid’s education to the shitty public school system and dont have time for their husbands. They THINK it’s working. They pretend they’re happy. But they’re not. She should have a career. And statistics show she’s likely to be damn good at it if she puts in the work.

But motherhood is a career in itself. So when they wanna shift to that, it’s not to be taken lightly or demeaned. That’s what I’ll be telling my daughter. Choose one, be great at it. Choose both, just make sure they’re at different chapters of your life so you can ensure success.

Now yer sounding like a hillbilly redneck. Our daughter did 4 years on the Reagan. Was she fighting hand to hand on the front line in some desert shithole town or in the middle of a jungle ? No. Did she serve her country and do the job she was given just as good (or better ?) than a guy could have ? 100% Not everyone in the service is a marine on the front line. Gonna have to agree to disagree on this one cowboy.

Parenthood is hard as fuck.

Most of the time it's the man that shirks his responsibility and sticks it all on the mother.

My wife is a stay at home mom while we have young kids, its great. I have friends that are stay at home dads, I have friends that are both professionals working. We are all "lazy millenials". We all love our kids and want the best for them. We all have our own ideas of what that looks like.

Women should have the freedom to make their own decisions about how they want their life and their time as a mother to be.

No argument there. I place 99% of the blame on men failing to be men for where we are at now.

As far as a woman’s freedom is concerned, that’s a slippery slope. Once we got married and decided on a family, things changed. We made a plan. As long as Im in the role of being the protector, Im gonna have the final say for my wife on many matters. Im the one that has literally put my life on the line for the family when danger was at our doorstep (while she hid in the house with the baby). I did that for her because she put her life on the line when she had our baby. I will continue to protect & provide because Im best suited for it.

If the roles were flipped I’d be emasculated and she would never earn what I can. Even if she could, I’d never be the mother she is - and this despite TONS of training & experience in childwork that I have.

Ever seen a winning team with 8 quarterbacks? Me neither. Nothing wrong with roles. In fact, it’s the better system. But as you said, the men gotta do their jobs first & foremost. It all trickles down from there.

I also know lots of woman who in my opinion do a great job with all 3. I agree it’s tough, and maybe needs a little more help from the man.

It’s bullshit if people try to convince you that “your way” is wrong, but I would say the same applies the other way.
Every kid is different, every woman is different and every bloke is different, every occupation is different, every families level of support from people around them is different.
Different things work for different people.
I know people in old fashioned relationships who are happy, some who aren’t, some who are great parents and some who are shit parents.
The same applies for families with 2 working parents.

I never try to convince others they’re wrong on this discussion. We’re just a bunch of dudes having a cool conversation.

I’ll state my argument. But generally I sit back and laugh when the people I know personally tell me “it’s working”. I let them think that. But they also tell me all the reasons it isn’t working when they complain about lack of sex, they resent their kids, and how unhappy they are.

My wife tells people how happy she is yet they try to change her and if she doesn’t, they get quite upset. That’s a product of where we live tho. Hyper hippy utopia. And fwiw, my wife is the opposite of me. Super easy going, non confrontational, easy on the eyes. These bitches that attack and then shun her got no good excuse for the behavior. Me? Im hard to like and I know it HAHA.

But...

I’ll state my argument. But generally I sit back and laugh when the people I know personally tell me “it’s working”. I let them think that. But they also tell me all the reasons it isn’t working when they complain about lack of sex, they resent their kids, and how unhappy they are.

Haha, and nobody should tell you that you guys can’t do it how you want to.
Isn’t freedom great. And I am sure you guys are doing a great job raising your kids.
In my experience as long as people truly care about what sort of parent they are, it means they will probably do a great job.
Beyond that, there are many ways to get the job done. Each to their own.

PS, I don’t think women belong in the military either, or homosexuals, or transsexuals.

My statement comes only from my personal experience in the military.
