Butron has been a 18-25th place guy in MXGP the last few years, it will be interesting how he stacks up here.
I don't know about his Instagram, but he's listed on the entry list.

Lupino is racing Thunder Valley as well.

- Alessandro Lupino was on Husky ("factory" effort with Michael Leib as team mate), Honda (Asssomotor), Kawi (Gebben), Yamaha (gebben) & KTM (MRT) in last decade if i'm not mistaken (he is missing Zooki, TM, Beta, Fantic & GasGas for his infinity gauntlet)

- Jose Butron was KTM-bound since like... ever? even In MX2 he rode for Silver Action KTM, Marchetti KTM (i guess...) and now is doing his gig in JD Gunnex KTM.

on the other hand TM got riders like:
- Antii Pyrhonen, Aigar Leok, Tanel Leok, Shaun Simpson, Anthony Boissiere, Davide Guarnieri, Martin Michek, Petr Smitka, Andrea Cervellin, Nick Kouwenberg, Ivo Monticelli, Christopher Valente, Samuele Bernardini (MX2 2018) & Max Nagl (MXGP 2018).

Lupino best result 6th in GP, he been second Italian guy after Cairoli normally 10-15 in results.
Butron been good starter best result 9th but hasnt been in top15 last couple years because of injuries.
Dont wait too much but its part of their preparations for MXGP.

Yeah I know. But it's not like Lupino is a B rider. If I had to guess I'd say he has a good start, rides around in the top 10 and finishes 12-15. Not really an ideal track for him either

It’s gonna be a good preparation for him for Russia, no doubt about that.

I personally don’t think he is here for results, more the pace and intensity.

Class is loaded for sure. Matthes drops 12 guys that are capable off top 5, and is not even naming guys like Anstie,Savatgy,Bogle,Noren and more..

Italian Hardpack GP he can suprise, in Pala not so much IMO.

It will be interesting because I don’t think many people in America would’ve really paid much attention to Lupino before. He’s one of the more underrated riders in the GP’s for me, he doesn’t really do anything stand out but he’s turned into a really solid and consistent rider over the last few years. I think he should be able to be top 15 no problem.

Butron I’m not sure about, he’s been on the decline for a few years now, I would think he’ll be delighted if he can score a point or two

The guys finished 6th a few times late last year in the MXGP’s so I’d say he has the ability to be noticed. And what “buzz” are you referring to? A thread with a few posts on vital? You consider this “buzz?” You’re acting like we’re dealing with a 50 page James Stewart thread here.

I think Lupino will struggle, but I thought the same about De Reuver, DeDyker, and Desalle and I was proven wrong. It's always fun to have a visitor to the series.

We're on the same page... Anstie is stronger than Lupino for sure, even FMOTP in 2017. But a top 5 moto is still an exceptional result for Max.

I'm rooting for him, just because I appreciate the effort. A top 15 moto would be a very good result at pala.

Top 15 for sure . There are really only about 13 factory riders in that class so he should be able to beat the guys with minor sponsors and local guys etc. The 250 class is much deeper

Just checked Butron's Instagram, he's listed on the entry list, but he won't be attending Pala. It looks like he's still home in Spain.

He will ride a stock KTM with only HGS exhaust.
He can go top 15 i think.

His best ride for sure was 18 in RedBud.
And i will remember his one gatedrop when he was off the bike.
Cool he come over and try, such a nice buddy.

The press release said that he brought full suspension too... Just going to be a stock motor.

But I'm just excited about the effort... It takes a lot to do a 1 off like this. And it isn't about the results and I'm sure plenty of posts will try to read in to the results. But as was said early on, it probably isn't a great track for him, he isn't riding his regular bike and doesn't know much about his competition.

Not to mention that we all pretty much accept that there are 12-14 guys that can drop a top 5 moto at any time...
