Can someone imbed the video? I can't figure it out.

I don't know if this is good for the sport. I hope this doesn't eliminate a lower cost option and less rider supporting local tracks.

We never had more riders, tracks, support for local tracks than the pinnacle of the 125 2t

I care more about having lots of cool places to ride with big support than throttle response, kick-starting and having 60 hp with cellphone connectivity and traction control

The off road models already have fuel injection standard

The video is specifically comparing the offroad injected models cylinder casting to the 2021 250sx

Sharing castings with the higher volume TPI bikes makes sure the lower volume 250sx is still financially viable.

But what he is showing is the casting has different bungs for potentially different injection options than his TPI model

There are rumors of a new injection system for tpi. Supposedly it has been seen on some of the factory supported enduro bikes in Europe. 2023 is expected to be a major update for ktm. I would expect a new tpi system to show up then. They may have updated the castings for different reasons like tool wear and rolled that in early.

Hmmm yeah, FI for the 250 SX might be a bit much for me. Id rather have electric starting over FI but thats me. A decently jetted 250 SX was far more power than I can really use. I know those electric start ktm 2 strokes start insanely fast its awesome

I don't think they are going to spend the money to inject the SX bikes unless they have to for emissions reasons.

I think efi is cheaper than a battery and starter. I want one with efi bad but I love the sport so much I'm concerned as these lower cost options are eliminated used bikes are crazy high now and more tracks are struggling with noise and land encroaching.

Bring back the kickstarter 125 2t in pro racing!!!!!!!!

Among many other bikes, ive had 4 250SX models, I have a pretty trashed knee so I picked up a 2020 250xc for the E-start. I had the ECU flashed, adjusted the PV and added a High Comp head to try and make it run more like an SX. It was horrible, and I sold it at 40hrs. If you are thinking you are getting a classic 2t feel with TPI, you are going to be disappointed. In current form they are trash for moto, and honestly everywhere else IMO.

Dang that’s a bummer to hear. I had a chance to try a TPI 300 and had similar thoughts. Dull/flat power with minimal hit and a surprising amount of engine braking.
I was hoping that a 250 TPI with the mods you did (ecu, head, PV) would add some excitement and possibly be an awesome do-it-all bike but I guess not.
Hard to argue with the luggabity of those things but aside from really slow, gnarly stuff I think a four stroke or a carbureted MX two stroke are better for most types of riding.
