Jeff Jennings piloting a Norm Reeves sponsored Bultaco on display in the service department of Mid-Cities Motorsports in Paramount, Calif, formerly known as Norm Reeves Honda BSA.
That would have been 1975. Here's one of my pics from that same jump around that same time. He'd had a battle with Steve Wise. A fraction of a second before I snapped this they'd bumped hips in the air -- both reacted instantly and continued with their duel.
Now I have been a big Jeff Jennings fan for a long time so when my friend took me over to introduce him to me I couldn't believe it, it was the one and only Jeff Jennings.
I've been racing Suzuki's for a long time so I've always rooted for the hole team. But Jeff was my favorite. So when I shook his hand I said “you're Jeff Jennings former team Suzuki racer" He smiled and said yep that's me.
Now Jeff is one of those racers I always tried to get autograph from him but now were working together. When he started working with us I loving to coming to work!
I saw Jeff win the long distance competition LA Superbowl of Motocross. I also saw him at the SCORE off road race at Riverside Raceway where Jeff and Terri Clark from team Kawasaki we're kicking butt over all the off-road racers. Unfortunately Jeff came in second.
I also saw him at a Dirt Diggers Grand Prix race at Racing World motorcycle park. Dirt Diggers were giving out BIG money for there pros race that he was in. I think at that time he was racing a Maico?
I'm glad to hear Jeff is doing good. He's a nice guy to talk to. It was fun talking to him about being a factory racer. That is something that he could be very proud of. Living the dream of every kid wishing that they could be a factory racer.
Pit Row
Hangtown 1979. JJ rode to 4th overall in the 250cc AMA National.
Jeff Jennings was one of the most stylish Motocross racers I've ever seen.
At Saddleback he was buttery smooth like the Dogger Ronnie and his gear was always spot on
Thought for sure he would have made the big time.
Chasing Radical Ron Turner another So Cal legend. 😎
The shot with Turner isn't JJ. I think it may be Jeff Ward.
